You can use the upload function on the site and submit your entries. You can also log on to the WAP portal through your mobile phone and upload entries.

Are there any rules for what I can / cannot submit?

You should submit original entries. Further, the entries should not be pornographic, offensive and sensitive in nature. For details, refer to the contest Terms & Conditions on the site.

What do you mean by themes for submission? Do I have to select a theme, what if think that my entry is relevant to more than one theme?

Who owns my video / photo / cartoon / joke or anecdote if it is selected for gratification?

This A Day in the life of India campaign (hereinafter referred to as "campaign" or "contest") is being conducted by Bennett Coleman & Company Limited, existing and incorporated under the Companies Act, 1956 and having its registered office at 2, Dr D.N. Road, Fort, Mumbai - 400 001, having its corporate office at Times House, 7, Bahadur Shah Zafar Marg, New Delhi-110002 (hereinafter referred to as "BCCL" or "the Company", which term shall, unless repugnant to the context or meaning thereof, be deemed to mean and include its successors and assigns).

The terms and conditions contained herein form an agreement regulating our relationship with regard to your use of the Site (hereinafter defined) and your participation in the Contest. You are advised to read the terms and conditions carefully. If you are not agreeable to any terms and conditions, you should not use the Site or participate in the Contest. A Day in the life of India is a platform organizing the Contest, wherein you can post the Content and win prizes.

1. DEFINITION

1.1. "Content" shall mean and include the text, software, scripts, graphics, photographs, cartoons, sounds, music, videos, audiovisual combinations, interactive features and other materials in whole or in part you may view on, access though, or contribute / post to the Contest or Site,.

1.2. "Contest" means the Contest which is called as "A Day in the life of India" as hosted by the Site.

1.3. "TIL" means Times Internet limited, "BCCL" means Bennett, Coleman & Co. Ltd., its group companies, associate companies, subsidiaries and affiliates.

2. CONTEST DURATION

The Contest shall start on 26th January 2011 and shall be valid until terminated by TIL/BCCL in its sole discretion.

3. ELIGIBILITY

This Contest is open to all persons who chose to participate in the Contest by posting Content on Site. There shall be no upper or lower age limit for participation.

The Contest shall not be open for any employees of the Times Group or its affiliates.

BCCL shall have sole discretion to adjudge the eligibility of participants.

The "professional" 'My own Idea is defined as a person who has made commercial benefit by using film/videos, photographs, jokes & anecdotes or cartoons, as the case may be.

The "amateur" 'My own Idea is defined as a person who is not a professional.

4. DESCRIPTION OF CONTEST

4.1. The Contest is valid only in territory of India.

4.2. For participation in Contest, you shall be required to complete the registration process (i.e. by providing us with current, complete and accurate information as prompted by the applicable registration form) and post the video/photo/jokes & anecdotes/cartoon. The data collected by BCCL/TIL on the completion of the registration process by you shall be governed by the PRIVACY POLICY of the site.

4.3. Inaccurate data may result in your disqualification from the Contest at BCCL’s sole discretion.

4.4. BCCL/TIL reserves the sole right to decide the winner entry. The decision of BCCL/TIL shall be final and binding on the User with regard to Contest and Prize.

2. BCCL/TIL also reserves the rights to change the Prize at any time during the contest. Prizes shall be non- transferable and must be accepted as awarded. No request for substitution shall be accepted by BCCL/TIL.
3. Winner to collect the prize shall have to produce all the following original documents:-
   1. Proof of Identity
   2. Proof of Address
   3. Date of Birth Certificate
   4. Copy of PAN card
   5. Any other document as required by BCCL/TIL
   6. 
      
4. In the event the selected winner does not provide the aforesaid information/documents, within a period of fifteen (15) days of winning the Prize, BCCL/TIL may at its sole discretion, cancel the entitlement of the said winner.
5. In the event the selected winner is not contactable within 10 tries during 5 consecutive working days on his/her E- mail id, BCCL/TIL may at its sole discretion, cancel the entitlement of the said winner.
6. All applicable taxes/duties/levies, handling charges, transportation costs or any other incidental costs on the Prizes shall be solely borne by the winners for the fulfillment of the Prize. All deductions (such as TDS), withholding tax etc. wherever applicable, shall be paid by contestant to BCCL/TIL in accordance with the Income Tax Act, 1961 or as any other law as applicable before disbursement of Prize.
7. All Prizes shall be subject to Terms and compliance with all applicable statutory legislations/ processes /formalities as may be applicable to specific Prizes.
8. The decision of judge(s) of BCCL/TIL in respect of all Prizes/Contest shall be final and binding and no communication in this regard shall be entertained.
9. Prizes will be sent to winners within 60 working days from the date of receiving all the specified information/documents duly signed by the Winner and after completion of all formalities as required. All efforts will be made to send the Prize to the winner’s given addresses. However, in case of area not serviceable in the discretion of TIL or its appointed vendor, the Winners shall be required to furnish alternate serviceable area or to collect from the nearest possible point of delivery at winner’s cost.

6. USER’S OBLIGATIONS

1. You shall not upload, or otherwise transmit any Content, matter, views or messages that are defamatory, abusive, pervasive, obscene, hateful, threatening or harassing, affect national interest, incites violence, invasive of another's privacy, infringing another person’s copyrights or any other intellectual property rights, racially, ethnically or otherwise objectionable.
2. You shall only upload Content which has been originally created by you.
3. You shall not send or otherwise post unauthorized commercial communications, containing alcohol-related or other mature content (including advertisements) on the Site.
4. You shall neither violate nor facilitate any violations of the Terms mentioned herein.
5. You shall not use Site to do anything unlawful, misleading, malicious, or discriminatory.
6. You further agree and assure BCCL/TIL, that you shall not:

8. BCCL/TIL’S RIGHTS

1. BCCL/TIL reserve the right at its discretion to modify these Terms from time to time due to regulatory, administrative and/or commercial compulsions or for any other reasons considered necessary in the interest of business operations or if this is necessary for the proper provisioning and conduct of the campaign/ or host the Content/ carry out the Contest and such changes shall be published by BCCL/TIL on its website from time to time.
2. Privacy of communication is subject to any statutory, government regulations and the Terms mentioned herein. You specifically agree that in order to facilitate or host the content/ carry out the contest, BCCL/TIL may be required to disclose any information or particulars pertaining to you to any authority, statutory or otherwise, including but not limited to any security agency, and reserves the right to comply with the directions of such authorities at its sole discretion and without intimating you.
3. If BCCL/TIL in its sole discretion determines that a violation of the Terms has occurred, BCCL/TIL may pursue any of its legal remedies, including but not limited to the immediate deletion of any offending material/Content from the Site. BCCL/TIL could also pursue such user(s)/contestants with claims that they have violated various criminal or civil law provisions as applicable under the relevant law of the land.    BCCL/TIL shall not incur any liability for any interruption or delay of access to the Site due to a Force Majeure Event.    You and BCCL/TIL agree that any cause of action arising out of or related to Contest must commence within one (1) year after the cause of action accrues, otherwise such cause of action shall be permanently barred without any recourse.
7. Survival
   Rights and obligations under the Terms which by their nature should survive will remain in full effect after termination or expiration of the Contest.
8. Non Waiver
   Any express waiver or failure to exercise promptly any right under this agreement will not create a continuing waiver or any expectation of non-enforcement.
9. All Terms
   These Terms and the terms of site/(s) incorporated by reference constitute the entire agreement between you and BCCL/TIL with respect to the subject matter hereof and supersedes and replaces all prior or contemporaneous understandings, terms or agreements, written or oral, regarding such subject matter.
