Fall Door Decor and Fall Home Decor 3 Sep 2013 8:08 AM (11 years ago)

I know I haven't posted on here in a long time, but I thought I would share with you one of my recent projects. I still craft from time to time, and I especially love making home decor items--although I haven't been posting them on my blog. Sorry!

I absolutely love hanging wreaths or similar things on our door or around our home. AND I ESPECIALLY LOVE FALL. I think fall is my favorite season. I'm so ready for it to be fall, I just couldn't stop myself from diving in already and making something fall related. I have even started getting out all of our fall decorations. Whatever makes you happy right? :-)

Hello again everyone,

It has been a very, very long time since I have posted on here. I just wanted to let you all know that I still have a special place for crafting in my heart, but I have moved on to a new love of mine: Cooking.

 I am now a Pampered Chef Consultant. Not for the money either. I just absolutely LOVE their products. And their products make my life so much easier. Dinner takes less time, so I get to spend more time with my family. (Not to mention that my pans and kitchen supplies have life-time warranties)

Hello all of my lovely readers!

It's time for another design team post and link-up party. Are you excited?

To be honest, having my second child has been really hard on me. Seems that anymore I am fighting just to keep my head above the water. My son has had colic and thus didn't sleep, didn't eat well, cried all the time, etc., and so it really is no wonder that I am feeling stressed and down. My son is beginning to get better now, as we switched to a special (very expensive) formula and also had him start sleeping in his car seat to help with his reflux. Needless to say, crafting time has been a hard thing to come by.

Hello all of my lovely readers!

It's finally time for the first design team post and link-up party of the year. Yay!!!!!! I'm so excited! And the design team has really grown this year, so you are in store for a variety of wonderful projects.

The theme this time is  
Valentine's Day.

Since I am pressed for time right now as I try to adjust to 2nd parenthood, I came up with an easy project that you can do with a toddler: a Heart Link Chain. They were fun and simple, so I might make some more soon and decorate my daughter's room with them, maybe even hang them from the ceiling. That might be fun. What do you think?

Hello my devoted readers!

Happy Valentine's Day!!!

I just wanted to let everyone know that I finished picking my new designers for the Patches of Pink Design Team 2012. It was a very difficult decision as there was so much talent that was put forth by all those who applied. In fact, there was so much talent I brought on more designers than I had originally intended. :-)

Thank you to everyone for applying, and I wish that I could contact every single one of you directly, but right now I'm still trying to adjust to second parenthood and let's be honest it's tough!! If you were picked to be on the design team you should have received an email from me (patchesofpink(at)gmail(dot)com).

Be looking forward to the first design team post of the year on Thursday! We should have a bunch of great projects and you should get to meet most of the new designers.

~ CALLING ALL CREATIVE CRAFTERS ~ 

Patches of Pink is looking for some bright new faces and ideas for the 2012 Design Team.  I had a wonderful design team last year and am looking forward to working with another group of inspiring crafters!  

So, if you love crafting and sharing your ideas with others, just follow the simple instructions below to enter!  

***Submissions will be accepted until January 31st at MIDNIGHT (EST).***

(Must speak fluent English, please.)

How to enter:

1. Please link up your blog in the link-up party at the end of this post.

2. The links to two of your favorite projects EVER and one brand new one that no one has ever seen before (for a total of 3 projects).  I don't want to limit anyone's creativity, so it could be a layout, a card, any kind of paper craft, home decor or sewing project.  The possibilities are endless.

3. A short paragraph telling me a little about yourself, what got you interested in crafting, and why you enjoy it.

Christmas Craft Favorites and a Huge Thank You!!! 5 Jan 2012 4:09 AM (13 years ago)

HELLO EVERYONE! First things first, yes I am alive!  It has been FOREVER since I have posted anything aside from a Design Team post (more on that later).  It's not that I don't have anything to post, because I have had quite a few little projects that I have been working on and am currently working on before the baby comes.   

Speaking of the baby...  I haven't had him yet, but have a feeling that he will be making his grand entrance sooner than later.  I am currently 36 weeks along and have had two false alarm visits to the hospital.  I will be sure to let you all know when he does decide come.  I have a feeling he could come any day.  Before my hubby starts is new semester of grad school classes would be nice, but sadly I don't make that call.   My next order of business...I want to give a HUGE THANK YOU to my fabulous design team.  I feel so blessed to have had such a wonderful group of ladies expressing their creativity for Patches of Pink.  I do feel like I let them down when I let my blog start going down hill (yes, I did notice my lack of posting, especially since I got pregnant).  Despite that, they were so loyal and kind to me!  These ladies are truly wonderful and very creatively crafty. :)  If you haven't had a chance to visit their blogs, just click on the links below and don't forget to show them some love!

Here is my entry.
I created a home decor item out of wood blocks I had cut at Home Depot. I've been wanting to make something Christmas related for some time for the shelf above my computer. I was looking on Pinterest (my new favorite place by the way) for some ideas, and I found a few that sparked some creativity. So I decided to make these blocks.

First of all, I want to apologize to Canvas 4 Life for not posting this sooner.  With traveling and trying to get through my pregnancy, things like my blog have kind of taken a back burner.  I wanted to let you all know of this wonderful company, Canvas 4 Life, who makes beautiful canvas prints.

Here is my entry.
I created a home decor item for my entry way. I saw something similar to this at JoAnn's once and wanted to try my hand at making it. This was my first time cutting vinyl myself with my Cricut, and I am very pleased with how it turned out (although I wish I had different fonts). Also, my Gypsy stopped working today, and I had a font on there that I could have used, so that is a little frustrating.

Happy Monday!!

After all the traveling we have done this summer and trying to get through my first trimester, I figured it's time to get back to a schedule to help make my life a little easier throughout the rest of the pregnancy.  Starting with my weekly menu.  So, here's what's cookin this week...

Monday: Chicken salad

Tuesday: BLT's with fruit salad

Wednesday: Homemade pizza

Thursday: Sweet and sour chicken with rice

Friday: Cheese burgers with fries

Saturday: Creamy chicken enchiladas with salad

Sunday:  Dinner with friends

Also, I know this has been weeks ago, but here are the pictures of the dressers my hubby and I re-did.  We love how they turned out!

Pregnancy Update:  I am feeling much better now that I'm past my first trimester.  Thank you for all your kind words and advise!  I have a lot more energy, but I have been experiencing some pretty bad back pain.  Looks like I'll be investing in one of those support belts.  Let's hope that helps!  We find out the gender in a couple weeks!  We're super excited!

Hello everyone!

I am so sorry that I haven't been able to post much recently. This pregnancy has been kicking my butt. My hubby and I have also been working on getting our house back into shape since we have been traveling. Welcome to the Design Team Birthday Blog Hop 7/30-7/31

I’m sure you’re all familiar with a standard blog hop - a long list of blogs, and you hop from one to the other leaving comments...Well, this one has a twist. This should be a super efficient hop for you, the hopper...

We’re linking up design team blogs instead of the individual bloggers blogs... So you only have to make 8 hops, and you’ll get to see about 57 cards! This is our first time doing this, so we’d love to hear what you think!

Some of the design teams will be offering up blog candy, and if you’d like to be eligible for the grand prize, you must follow all the design team blogs and comment on all the posts.

The grand prize winner will be selected randomly from the comments there.

Thank you so very much to all of you who linked up this week. The entries were all so wonderful that it made it extremely difficult to pick our top 5 favorites and also my new Patches of Pink Designer. All of my designers, my hubby, and I picked our top 5. Each time an entry got picked as #1 it received 5 points, #2 - 4 pts, #3 - 3 pts, #4 - 2 pts, and #5 1 pt. Then, all of these points were summed to figure out who the top 5 entries for this week were, so here they are...
