“I’m wearing a skirt I made from scrap pieces, a top that I’ve screenprinted on, a jacket that my friend gave me and a tie around my head. I get inspired by my friends and the people I meet and just by creating things without a plan and just working with what I have in hand.”

“I’m wearing my Kina & Tam top, and pants that I bought from UFF four years ago. I’ve worn them so much that they eventually started to fall apart. So, I patched them up, and now they are my punk pants. They include the embroidered texts ’Enhän minä takiasi kampaa enkä peilaa’ and ’I bite transphobes’ (since those are the punkest things I can think of). I made the waist chains myself. They say my name and ’I love things’ because I truly love so many things. I also have a candy necklace in case my friends or I need a little snack. My outfits are often inspired by children’s literature and picture book

“I got the top from a Spanish clothing line called Bershka and the skirt from the UFF in Hakaniemi. My style is mostly inspired and directed by my current emotions. I embrace different styles depending on my feelings.”

“All my clothes are from thrift stores, except for the bag which I ordered from Lempi Lifestyle. For me, it’s important that my clothes look good and feel good, too. I’m happy that I no longer feel pressured about dressing a certain way and can just go with whatever mood I’m in. Sometimes people tell me I look like the Elovena girl, a kindergarten teacher, or a fairy. I think it’s funny!”

“I made my hair and skirt myself, the corset and skirt I got from my sister, the top shirt is from Uff and leggings from Cyber Shop. My style is inspired by @paha.lapsi.“

“This pride I’m wearing a thrifted skirt, a ripped artist t-shirt, a trifted o.i.s. purse and my only walkable shoes. The originally long sleeve t-shirt which I’ve turned into a sleeveless top is merch from the artist Backxwash. The Palestinian flag is on my person, as I partook in the 5 000 people block in the parade which calls for a free Palestine. What inspires my style currently is trans feminine people and queer punks who do not care for conformity.”

“I dressed for the Helsinki Pride to be fully myself. I was inspired by queer history and Matty Bowan’s and Jeffrey Loverboy’s British rejoicing of queerness. My philosophy is that beauty is not perfect, and I want this to be reflected in how I dress. Materials are important, especially contrasting ones like lurex and wool. Combining masculinity and femininity inspires me. My outfit consists of three recycled kilts that have been remade into one piece. The jewelry is mainly from Vivienne Westwood, except for the earrings by Mari. The sunglasses are secondhand John Galliano, the shirt is Impuls Classics, the bag is KTZ, the boots are Diesel, and the bandana i

“I’m wearing my mom’s old pants that I kind of widened myself, and then the two tops are second hand. The scarf is borrowed from a friend and I made the little nonbinary pin for pride. Folk music icons like Joni Mitchell, David Crosby, Joan Baez inspire my style greatly. My friends are also a constant source of inspiration, and just wearing clothes I feel good in.”

“I’m wearing a thrifted laceish cotton shirt and knitted ruffle shorts that my mother made. My feelings always represent the way that I dress or actually maybe I try to fool myself by wearing bright colours and then my mood ’is bright’, I’m not sure.. .anyways usually I wear a lot of dark colours. My biggest style inspo is my motherr in the 80s and 90s.”

“For my Pride look, the color palette was determined by the demisexual flag and I wanted to corporate its colors to my outfit. Everything else besides the sunnies, shoes and pants is thrifted, and the lace skirt and purple jellyfish dress I got from my sibling. Lately I’ve been inspired by early 2000s cartoons, fashion dolls and their character designs and styling. I also enjoy the layering, silhouettes and patterns of Fruits magazine looks.”

“I’m wearing some old yellow Converse, my favourite jeans that I widened myself, a top I found at UFF or some other kind of flea market and a necklace I found on the ground, I think. Right now I don’t really have an inspiration I just kind of grab stuff out of my closet and go!”

“My outfit is inspired by Peggy Gou. I’m wearing my mother’s pants, my roommate’s scarf, and Gucci bag and glasses. Everything is secondhand. Generally, I’m inspired by people, being outside of the box, and Rihanna.”

“My lovely friend and colleague Sara borrowed this shirt to me the day before (for as long as I wanted). These checkered pants are from a second hand shop in Odessa, Ukraine in 2019. I’m into sharing, borrowing and finding pieces of clothes randomly. Yellow and orange are amazing colors!”

“I am wearing a thrifted blazer which is DIY’ed by me with the bows, and a long denim skirt paired up with my trusty New Rocks. My style is inspired by the color black, layering, big shapes, and the people around me.”

“The blue jacket I am wearing was designed by me and made by my dad’s spouse Hannele Heikkinen. The shoes are from Vagabond, the dress is from Uff and the bag is from Fida. I got the sunglasses from my friend. The earrings are my mom’s old Kalevala jewelry and my rings are mostly thrifted. I’m inspired by colors, femininity and the idea of adding a little fantasy to everyday life.”

“I’m wearing my friend’s kid’s old leather jacket that was gifted to my kiddo and stolen by me (ok, we share it), paired with thrifted finds and a Birthday Party band t-shirt from Etsy. My current style inspiration is turning laundry piles into nice outfits like this one I did today.”

“I’m wearing pieces from my own brands: ER, including the Mameluck Raver pants and a Winebox bag, and from Helsingin Kalsaritehdas, a nightgown. My styling is inspired by the challenge of combining unexpected items and making them work together. I draw the most inspiration from the people around me and the bypassers I encounter in my daily life. Thrift shops are fantastic for discovering unique and fun pieces that spark creativity.”

“I am wearing one of my favorite skirts and it makes me feel like a ballerina. My dear friend added a scarf to the skirt which adds to that feeling. I also have a pink blouse with embroidered cats, houses and trees, I like that. Most of my clothing are thrifted or given by my friends and they hold a lot of sentimental memories. I get inspired by a lot of things, like movement, music and people. I usually add accessories and jewelry. I think it’s fun and it sounds like a “kilikello” when I walk. Makes me want to dance.”

Unto: “I have rhubarb on my cap, a Palestine flag every day attached to some part of my clothes, which are all thrifted or from my friends. I choose my outfits to fit the emotions I have, always adding small magic objects around. I love layers, colours, and the different movements clothes give.”
Agda: “I’m always wearing Free Palestine pins, something warm, and prepared to go to swim. All my clothes are thrifted or borrowed, currently I want to wear anything I can carry with me the whole summer, feeling safe and comfortable. I am inspired by my friends, layers, soft textures, and the colour red.“
