3 Reasons Why Duterte is in Love with China 25 Jul 2019 1:06 AM (5 years ago)

Overall, I like President Rodrigo Duterte. I voted for him in the 2016 election. No regrets. The best choice in my opinion. I admire his straightforwardness in implementing he wants to accomplish. Some of the few examples are the cleanup of Boracay and returning the garbage to Canada.

But I’m disgusted with Duterte when it comes to his China – West Philippine Sea policy.

It’s so irritating when he lets the Chinese fish in Philippines waters. We used to arrest Chinese and other fishermen from other countries.

During the presidential campaign in 2016, he said he would protect the territory against Chinese incursions, and would even ride a jetski himself. It’s a different story now.

I gathered possible reasons why the President changed his policy.

1. He is truly scared of China’s military might. This is already not a secret. This has always been his stance since day one about his China policy.

On paper, China appears to be a scary giant. They have over 2 million military personnel, while the Philippines has only 171,000. Chinas has 1,222 fighter jets and the Philippines – none. Zero.

China’s tanks are over 3,000. The Philippines has 18.

The Chinese do appear intimidating, thus probably this could justify Duterte for playing it safe.

2. Digong’s hatred of the United States won’t make him ask for help. Duterte is a leftist, and most leftists resent the world’s most powerful nation, the United States. Leftists see the US as a bully and an arrogant country. Ideologically the US is an enemy of all the leftists worldwide, including even the American leftists.

If Duterte asks for help from the US, this could put a dent on his resentment he protected for many decades. Therefore, he just pretends to be scared of China, it’s not really that he is scared. The big brother the US has better military weapons than China will not be his ally if a war breaks out.

I used to be a leftist, and loathing the United States was always part of my being.

3. Pretending to be soft on China. Duterte is just secretly building up and fortifying the defensively capability of the Philippine military. Then, he would gradually change his stance and catch China off-guard.

In his speech at the 25th International Conference on the Future of Asia in Japan on June 1 this year, he said: “I love China, it has helped us a bit. But it behoves upon us to ask: Is it right for a country to claim the whole ocean?”.

The President questioned China’s occupation of the West Philippines Sea. Although, not really confrontational. Nonetheless, I liked what I heard from him in that speech.

Whether Duterte is pretending to be friendly with China or not. It irritates me to no end the way he handles China and the West Philippine Sea issue.

Do you have any other idea about Duterte’s China – West Philippine Sea policy? Leave a comment below.

Catholics and Muslims both worship idols 5 Jan 2019 4:20 AM (6 years ago)

Catholics are known for worshiping human-shaped statues, religiously termed as “idols”. Although, Catholics would counter-argue that they are not worshiping directly to an idol. The statues are just a “representation”. I should know, I used to use this defensive argument when confronted by non-Catholics.

I used to listened to Socrates Fernandes, a famous Catholic Faith defender. He has many counter-argument that makes sense at the time. But like most Catholics, I was not an avid Bible-reader. I only listened to what’s the “best” counter-argument. That was how I built my faith. If we want to have a stronger faith, read or listen to the Bible, according to Romans 10:17.

It’s not only evangelical Christians and other non-Catholic Christian denominations that are criticizing the Catholic’s idol worship. Muslims who claim to not venerate any form of idol are also staunch critic of the Roman Catholic’s Bible-contradicting idol worship.

Yes, Muslims do worship an idol

I already confronted Muslims about them worshiping an idol. I told them that ‘bowing before the Kaaba is worshiping an idol’. The large black cube structure may not look like the usual human-shaped idol, but in itself is an idol. Even its origin was pagan, but more about this later.

The Muslims’ usual response is basically similar to the Catholics. Muslims will usually, “we don’t worship the Kaaba directly, we focus our minds on Allah”.

Muslims around the world face towards Mecca (Makkah) when they pray. Muslims who are doing the the Tawaf would even touch or kiss it when they get closed to the Black Stone structure.

Similarly, Catholics in some countries, would face, touch and kiss their idol saints.

Mohammed imitated what the Jews when they practice their religion. Jews face the temple when they pray. There were other customs from different religions that Mohammed incorporated into his new religion

Video of Muslims surrounding the Kaabah

Look at the similar scenario of Catholics in the Philippines

The Origin of the Kaabah

The place where the original Kaabah stood used to have more than 360 idols of different shapes. Mohammed smashed the 360 idols, but he kept the bigger ones. For many years, the Kaabah was surrounded by big idols with Mohammed’s permission. Although, when he returned to Mecca in 630AD, he smashed all the remaining idols in the city.

Nobody knows the exact date of when it was erected nor the age of the Kaabah. It was already a pagan shrine even before Islam became a religion.

Muslims are taught that the Kaabah was built by Abraham and Ishmael, but no evidence could corroborate this claim.

Why we should not need any “representation” of God

I am an evangelical Christian. I do not need any tangible “representation” of God. It’s idolatry or paganism plain and simple, no matter how you play with words to defend a practice.

According to John 4:24, “God is spirit, and his worshipers must worship in the Spirit and in truth.” We communicate and venerate God in Spirit. From man’s spirit to God’s Spirit.

The human body is the temple of the Holy Spirit (1 Corinthians 6:19). The need for a literal temple or masjid is just secondary or not important. We can worship God within our own body.

Palestinian National Football Team players praised a Terrorist who killed 2 innocent Israelis 27 Oct 2016 9:57 PM (8 years ago)

Despicable and wrong way of supporting a man who killed two Israelis.

A football club in Palestine praised a man who they consider as a martyr, who killed two innocent Israelis, one a civilian woman, and the other a police officer.

mesbah-abu-sabih-terrorist

Hilal Al Quds Football Club allowed its players to pose with the poster of the killer, Mesbah Abu Sabih. Four of its players are members of Palestine National Football Team, who defeated the Philippine Azkals 1-0 on May 31, 2014 in the AFC Challenge Cup final game.

Will FIFA slap any punishment to these soccer players? I hope so. But the increasing political correctness around the world, it would be a long shot.

Lately, UNESCO did something so stupid, sorry for the lack of a better word. They basically, voted that the Temple Mount, the site which the last Jewish Temple was located is an “Islamic” site.

It received intense criticism from all over the world. So UNESCO, voted again, saying it is now a “Jewish, Christian and Islamic” site. But in their papers, it only mentions its Islamic name, “al-Haram al-Sharif”.

UNESCO, a United Nations branch dealing solely about education, science and culture. One of its work is to certify certain historic and significant sites or structures.

We are now approaching in dangerous times. The texts in Revelation in the New Testament Bible must be fulfilled.

The Good and Bad if the Philippines Stop Depending on the United States’ Aid 8 Oct 2016 10:00 PM (8 years ago)

I’m a former leftist and I know the usual anger towards the United States. President Rodrigo Duterte is full of that anger. But usually this anger is full of ignorance, but I wont be talking about it, perhaps in another blogpost.

Duterte’s antics about reneging friendship with the US probably surprise everyone, both the pro and anti-Duterte, The United States, is a long-time ally, for more than a hundred years.

But in every issue or decision, there are both the advantages and disadvantages.

First, the advantages
if the Philippines stops depending on the US aid or protection
1. We can learn to rely on ourselves to be dependent. Many Filipinos has a mendicant mentality. I used to have this mindset.

What is a mendicant mentality? It’s the mindset or act of being dependent for help and protection especially from the rich people. Beggars on the street turns to the “rich” foreigners if they see them in a crowd.

2. Duterte is teaching us self-reliance. When a person is self-reliant, he or she becomes creative and intelligent. Most millionaires have this mindset.

Now, the disadvantages
1. We become ungrateful. What is ungrateful? One who does not have a thankful heart, especially to the person who’s giving us help.

2. We create enemies than friends. I’d rather have more friends than enemies. Digong may be teaching us self-reliance but at the cost of a friendship from a long-time ally who helped us rebuild after the World War 2.

What’s your take?

Why Duterte Should Not Be Mad at Obama? 7 Sep 2016 7:46 PM (8 years ago)

obama socialism

President Rodrigo Duterte is resentful towards the United States. This resentment is common amongst leftists, one could not called a leftist if he or she not against anything United States of America. Digong admitted that he is a leftist.

I myself is a former leftist. A few steps more and I could have joined a leftwing activist group during my teenage years, thank God that didn’t happen though. I was always mad at the U-S of A, everything coming from them. Even an innocent product with a tag “Made in USA” was my victim.

Most Filipinos aren’t aware of the US politics, I follow it almost everyday. Their politicians are basically divided into leftist and rightwing group. Ours is kind of mixed-up, a 3rd world culture.

Leftwings prefer socialism and liberal laws (abortion & gay marriage) while rightwings lean towards capitalism and conservative laws.

Barrack Obama belongs to the Democratic party, and this party is the author of many liberal laws such as abortion and gay marriage, and did you know? They’re also the one that galized slavery more than a hundred years ago.

Obama’s mother was also a leftist activist during her college years, while his Kenyan father, a Muslim was also anti-American, a common attitude among Muslims.

Obama is a socialism advocate, just like Duterte. Although the former doesn’t directly admit that he’s a socialist unlike his party-mate Bernie Sanders, but US President does speak about “wealth distribution” and “tax the rich” which are usually quoted by socialists and communists.

So instead of being constantly mad, Duterte should befriend Barrack Obama and learn a thing or two about leftwing lessons.

Personally, I’m a rightwing. I voted for Duterte for drug war campaign and anti-corruption, but NOT his love for leftism, hero’s burial for Marcos and socialism.

Why Do You Bash Mocha Uson? 5 Aug 2016 5:37 AM (8 years ago)

mocha uson
Mocha Uson is probably the most bashed personality in the social media these days. Uson is a known supporter of President Rodrigo Duterte, so it’s safe to say that majority of those who lash out at her didn’t vote for the incumbent president in the last election.

I must admit I’m not a fan nor an opponent of her. I rarely visit her website, probably just thrice, and now make it fourth this time, because I had to, just for this blogpost.

Her Past Life
I first her heard of her name in the news many years back when she posted a controversial lesbian kiss photo. Her website is full of naked photos, and some of these photos could make some religious people angry especially the Catholics. A photo of her wearing a nun get up and blowing a condom. That will surely tick people off.

Recently, she vowed to no longer do her racy and sexy side and will project a wholesome image. Good to hear and besides she’s already 34 years old. Some sexy starlets regretted their past nude and naked past life.

So why do people bash her?
She’s opinionated. Every opinionated person will surely create enemies. Even Carlos Celdran also has his share of bashers. Both of them are opinionated.

I myself has a few bashers, I write many straightforward and controversial articles.

Her sexual and beautiful image. Human beings imbued with beauty are often portrayed as only “good looks but no brains”. I have that discriminating mindset at the back of my mind. We are all guilty, but this can also be partly true. Some pretty people depend on their looks for their careers, but neglect to invest in knowledge.

Ed Lingao, an experience journalist belittled her form of journalism, saying “Fascinating. So now, a visit by an avid supporter is defined as journalism”.

I believe Mocha Uson is intelligent. She went to University of Santo Tomas for her college. UST is one of the top universities in the country, and they have higher standards, and it’s not easy to get accepted. Her father was a lawyer and a judge at that. While her mother is a doctor. With that professional careers one has to have at least an IQ of 120. I’m pretty sure she inherited her parent’s intelligence.

The Next President in 2022 is a Duterte 22 Jun 2016 2:56 AM (8 years ago)

The next president would be a Duterte again. Any of the Duterte family. It could be President-elect Rodrigo Duterte, Paolo Duterte, Basti Duterte or Inday Sara Duterte. But if based on leadership qualities, it’s a toss-up between Digong and Sara.

duterte

Here is why Digong would be president in 2022
If Rodrigo Duterte will do his job well as a president and if the Philippine Constitution would be amended which would allow current president to run again for another term.

Here is why Sara Duterte would be president in 2022
If Rodrigo Duterte will do his job well as a president, this benefits the whole Duterte politicians.

According to Davaoeños I talked to, Sara is even a better politician than his father. So Sara could be the next best among the Duterte siblings, but only if Digong can do his job well in the next 6 years.

How about you? Would you like Digong or Sara as the next president in 2022?

The “Crisis” or “Victim” strategy of the Aquinos and Marcoses 22 Apr 2016 10:51 PM (8 years ago)

In the movie “Our Brand is Crisis” starred by Sandra Bullock as Jane Bodine, is a story about a political strategist working with a Bolivian politician Pedro Castillo win the 2002 presidential seat. The names are fictional, but it’s based on the actual Bolivian election in 2002. Castillo is actually Gonzalo Sánchez de Lozada, the 74th and 77th President of Bolivia.

Jane Bodine’s strategy is to create a national crisis, make his client’s opponents look bad, and portray his client as the victim. This tactic is so effective that even if Castillo has a bad reputation won the election for his second term.

After learning about this strategy, it made me realized that this has been what all politicians all over the world do, including Filipino politicians, specifically the famous ones such as Ferdinand Marcos, Cory Aquino, and Bongbong Marcos.

Ferdinand Marcos
The so called communist insurgency in the early 1970s was a strategy created by Marcos himself. This was a rumor that I heard when I was a boy that ‘the Marcos government setup for him to win his second term, and changed the Constitution so he could extend his reign’.

Cory Aquino
When President Ferdinand Marcos’s leadership was no longer working because of military abuses and first family and crony corruption. The rise of communist insurgency was becoming true this time. I myself as a 12 year old kid then even wanted to become a communist.

There was crisis, both organic and made up by the left. Corazon Aquino grabbed the opportunity of the crisis by depicting herself as the victim. It worked well for her, and finally unseated Marcos in a people power revolution in 1986. Filipinos are emotional, easily swayed towards the “victim”.

Bongbong Marcos
The Marcoses through Bongbong are slowly gaining back to power by portraying himself and his family as the “victims” of the oligarchs or conspiracy of the rich Aquino and friends. His victim strategy is so effective that the Millennials are defending him in internet forums and in social media.

I believe BB’s strategy started through this video circulating in the internet about 4 years ago.

Filipinos are the most emotional people in the world, even a survey conducted by Gallup supports this as fact.

That’s why Ginebra is the most popular basketball team in this country because during Jaworski’s time it usually had a tendency to overcome a bad game into winning it. We Pinoys root for a bad team, but works hard to winning a game.

That’s why Manny Pacquiao is the most popular boxer even labeling him as the Pambansang Kamao. Our hearts quickly melt for a “poor boy who became a champion”.

The Truth and Rumor about the Marcoses 16 Mar 2016 7:49 AM (9 years ago)

marcos family

These are rumors that I heard as a kid during the 1980s about the first family of former president Ferdinand Marcos, that me and majority of the Filipinos during the time partly respect and fully hate.

I researched some of these rumors to verify if it’s true because they’re still making me curious after all these years.

1. Imeldific had a “kabit” in George Hamilton
Rumor: Imelda Marcos and George Hamilton were lovers.
Truth: They’re just friends, or as Hamilton said, “platonic friends”.

Usually, having a platonic relationship means both are physically attracted to each other, but no sexual contact is involved.

Hamilton had the audacity to reveal the sexual relationship with his stepmother which could ruin his reputation. So I think he was telling the truth about his platonic relationship with Imelda which I think wouldn’t put his reputation on the line if he admits, it will only bolster his playboy image.

Source: Telegraph.co.uk

2. Ferdinand Marcos was a decorated soldier who fought in World War II.
Rumor: Macoy had 27 war medals.
Truth: He was never a war hero.

The US Armed Forces never recognized his claim that he led a guerilla group named Ang Mga Maharlika against the Japanese. The US Military even used the words ”no such unit ever existed”, “fraudulent” and “absurd” to describe it.

Source: New York Times

3. The real Bong Bong Marcos is dead
Rumor: The present Bong Bong is a hired look-alike to cover up the death of the real BB.
Truth 1: He is truly the real Ferdinand Marcos Jr. or Bong Bong. Same line of speech – lies like his father was. BB reiterates that his father was a war hero, his father never was. I’m saying that not to belittle him, I said it based on my own research and observation.

Truth 2: The real Bong Bong is dead. The Bong Bong you see now doesn’t have the intelligence and photographic memory of his father, the former president Marcos.

Bong Bong reads his speech unlike Marcos Sr. who can recall an hour of speech without reading it. Also, BB failed a quiz when he guested at ANC, only got 7 out of 16, while other candidates Trillanes scored 14 out of 20, and Robredo got 14 out of 18 questions.
