Madeleine and Patrick had a small micro-wedding at the Southwark Register Office wedding ceremony venue, followed by photos in their favourite park, and then home to Madeleine’s parents’ home, where friends were waiting with a mouth-watering wedding breakfast spread!

The lovely Poppy and Anuj were married at the height of summer on a very rainy, VERY windy day at Milwards Estate wedding venue in East Sussex. They came to me via Steph and Fuchsia, whose luscious Old Royal Naval College wedding I photographed a few years ago. Anuj and Poppy were guests at that wedding, and when they got engaged I was delighted they remembered and thought of me! Theirs was originally meant to be a 2020 wedding, but of course events which we shall not name delayed everything, so I was super happy when it finally happened!
The wedding ceremony was planned for outdoors by the lake, but windy, rainy weather meant we had to pivot to inside the marquee – luckily the one at Milwards Farm is massive and has absolutely beautiful light! The rain continued on and off during the day, but we were able to do all of the fun outside activities they’d planned, including miniature golf and a fab ice cream van. And honestly, the weather didn’t matter because everyone was so happy and so thrilled to be there for Poppy and Anuj – the joy is evident in the photos! After the ceremony, photos, and lunch, the wedding party (and lots of the guests) changed into their evening outfits – full on Hindu fabulousness! – and then had some of the most emotional speeches I’ve heard in a long time. Such a gorgeous, joyful Asian-fusion wedding – Poppy & Anuj, I love you and thank you so so much for inviting me to be a part of it!

As a London wedding photographer, the majority of my weddings are in London, but it’s always fun to venture further afield! Leonie and Alex chose the small town of Battle in East Sussex for their summer wedding, and their venue, The Pilgrims Rest, was a gorgeous choice – a 600-year-old building just brimming with charm and history (plus it was nice and cool inside on a hot summer’s day!). And there’s literally a castle right outside! Absolute win for both photos and ambience.

Sally and Dan were married in a lovely tree-themed summer wedding at Gildings Barn wedding venue in Dorking, Surrey! I travel all over for weddings, so while my home is London, Surrey is lovely and close, so I consider myself a Surrey wedding photographer too. Gildings Barn certainly delivered on the gorgeous rustic countryside elegance!

Lucy and Tony booked me a month or two before the dreaded C-word (covid!) and its resulting lockdown happened. They had to postpone their wedding for over a year, but when weddings were finally allowed to take place again, there we all were, and it was so fantastic to be back photographing people being happy and in love! The number of guests allowed inside the St Albans Registry Office wedding ceremony room were limited, but this didn’t worry a huge group of Lucy and Tony’s friends and family, who happily crowded round the open windows to watch the lovely couple get married.
Masks at a wedding were something we got used to for a short while there, and while I’m rather pleased to see the back of them, I did enjoy how people coordinated them to their outfits. Tony’s mask matched his tie, which I thought was wonderful!

Kalpna and Amar had an epic wedding celebration at the equally epic Amadeus Wedding Venue in little Venice in London. The Amadeus is a gorgeous venue, being enough of a blank canvas to create your own wedding magic and design in, but also still beautiful in its own right, with its high ceilings, stained glass windows, wood-panelled balcony, and elegant Victorian design. Amar and Kalpna brought their own Asian flavour to the event space, and I loved it! The details were beautiful (I loved the “Happily Ever After starts here” sign which got a lot of use in the group and couple photos), and when we returned to the main hall for dinner it looked absolutely stunning, with its long tables covered with candles, matching the twinkling fairylights overhead. Everyone had a blast, and I did too!

Abi and Adam’s wedding at the London Shenley Club in Radlett, Hertfordshire, was the most colourful, exuberant, FUN day ever! I freaking love this pair. There were literary references everywhere (be still my English nerd heart!), and so much colour, so much joy, and so much love! <3. The day started out rainy, but it cleared beautifully for garden games (so many! Jenga, croquet, badminton, darts, table tennis) and for everyone to have drinks and canapes outside after the lovely heartfelt ceremony. I got so so many brilliant photos of guests having the best time trying out all these games, so props again to Abi and Adam for having such cool and fun people at their wedding!
There were so many little details, from the book centrepieces and wedding cake with foxes and badgers hiding in every nook and cranny, to the book table names, each specially created by Abi and Adam. Watching people discover the personalised details was a joy, especially the giant “Two Wrights don’t make a Wrong” book! Abi was (is) my favourite kind of bride – brimming over with excitement, having the most fun she could ever possibly have in her life on her wedding day, which is exactly how it should be!
Before the meal, there was ceilidh dancing, at first led by the wedding couple, and then by friends when it got too chaotic! But chaotic is this wedding photographer’s friend, because the more chaos, the more fun, and the more fun, the more – you guessed it – fun photos! Then in the evening a photo booth and a candy floss machine arrived (I could not have been more delighted! Reliving my childhood right there). All in all, a freaking delight of a day! Abi and Adam, thank you so, SO much for allowing me to capture it in all its colourful wedding day glory! And thank you to the staff at the Shenley Club wedding venue, who couldn’t have been more lovely and helpful.

Prince Albert Camden Wedding
When Halley and Andy booked me to photograph their wedding at the Prince Albert pub in Camden, North London, they said they’d been undecided about having their ceremony as well as the reception there, until they saw my pictures of Becca and Ali’s wedding at the same venue, and saw how well they’d pulled off having the ceremony in the downstairs area of the Prince Albert. So props to my past couples for helping out my future couples without even knowing it!
I had many favourite things I loved about Halley and Andy’s wedding day, but really I think it can be boiled down to two important things:
1) Having the most fun you could possibly ever have at your wedding (or, if you’re a guest, having the most fun ever at your friend or family member’s wedding)
2) Games, games, and more games.
No, seriously, GAMES. I mean, I’ve always been partial to some wedding day games – jenga is a massive hit every time, spacehoppers are epic fun, and you can’t beat a good treasure hunt or quiz – but Halley and Andy had a different game on pretty much every table at their reception, and it was glorious. There was jenga (natch), cards against humanity, Dobble (look it up if you don’t know what it is! It’s FUN), hungry hippos, that one where you have to balance things on a horse until something falls, and Twister. I’m all about fun at weddings because it makes my job capturing fun photos soooo much easier!
Thank you, Halley and Andy, for inviting me to share in the sheer joy of your wedding day at The Prince Albert in Camden Town!

Robyn and Ayush were married on a gorgeous hot May day at the beautiful London Wetland Centre wedding venue in Barnes. I’ve photographed a wedding there before (see Deepa and Josh’s fabulous fusion wedding here), but their ceremony was held in the venue’s little woodland cottage, whereas this time the ceremony was in a long, narrow room in the main building of the wetland centre, with stunning floor-to-ceilings views of the reserve. I love seeing everything a venue has to offer!
Robyn and Ayush both arrived in light blue attire – completely unplanned matchiness! I absolutely loved Robyn’s sleek powder blue wedding dress, topped with a white lace bodice, and Ayush looked stylish as hell in his blue suit. The whole day was so chilled out and relaxed – after the ceremony there were biscuits and tea, and loads of time for everyone to hang out and chat, and then it was time for the barbecue (yum!), followed by ice cream for an ice cream cart (my favourite!). In between these we did some fun family and couple photos, and then it was back indoors for speeches and the most fun ceilidh ever! I loved every little thing about this super relaxed, happy wedding, so Aysush and Robyn, thank you so much for inviting me to be a part of it! xx
