Prophetic Inspiration for Today: God’s Faithfulness
I don’t know about you, but I am so thankful that God’s love and mercy never cease and his faithfulness is steadfast. All morning, I have had the lyrics to one of my favorite worship songs running through my spirit.
Great is your faithfulness to me
Great is your faithfulness to me
From the rising sun
to the setting same
I will praise your name
Great is your faithfulness to me
Listen to it HERE
"The steadfast love of the Lord never ceases; his mercies never come to an end; they are new every morning; great is your faithfulness." Lamentations 3:22-23
Life can be challenging. We are all faced with daily decisions that can alter the course of our existence. God desires us to lean into him for guidance on those decisions and to trust that he is the Lord of our journey.
As I look back over the course of my life, I can clearly see how God has directed and guided my steps each and every day. God has always gotten me where I need to be when I need to be there. This doesn’t mean I have never made a wrong decision or made mistakes … that’s the beauty in it all.
I have absolute confidence that no matter what is happening, God’s plan will continue to unfold for my life and nothing can prevent that from happening.
Why?
Because He is faithful. His love is eternal. His mercies are fresh every morning.
God’s faithfulness, his mercy, and his steadfast love are still there … No. Matter. What.
And as long as we remain yielded to Him and allow Him to work in our lives … then He will take any situation, no matter how good, no matter how bad, no matter how messy … and he will make something more beautiful from it.
So next time things look upside down, look up and know that God is faithful.
Next time something takes a turn you didn’t expect, look up and know God is faithful.
Next time someone criticizes you or judges you or falsely accuses you … blah blah … ignore it. Look up and know God is faithful, He will fight your battles.
Next time you feel like things are too messy and you want to throw in the towel … look up and know God’s mercies are new every morning, release your burdens to Him … and know He is faithful.
The beautiful thing about life is that we are all on a journey and this journey has a simple purpose …
Walk in Love
Grow in Faith
Live in Hope
As you move through your week, remember … Great Is His Faithfulness to you …
Now, go have a fabulous day and be happy with wherever life has you right now … because this is your opportunity to trust in His faithfulness and become more rooted in the simple purpose of life. And if you got something out of this, then please share it with others.
Wishing you much happiness and joy,
Dr. Krista Abbott

Have you ever been frustrated and stuck? Feeling like no one understands your gift or how awesome you really are at what you do?
What you may be missing are the favor keys we are going to talk about today! In this episode, I am going to be sharing with you some strategic keys to help you unlock favor over your life and your business.
Kris Vallotton said “If you find your people, you find your destiny (or purpose).” It is difficult to really know what you are on earth to do until you first identify who you are here to serve.
Why is this important, and even relevant to what we are going to talk about today?
Before you can unlock something, you have to find the access point to it. Right?
The door to your favor is hidden in the people you are called to serve and the problems you are called to solve.
So, before we can talk about and reveal the keys to the favor you seek in your life and your business … you have to be clear on who it is that you are serving in your business.
Why?
Because the favor you need, the favor you seek, is hidden with the people you are called to serve, and the problems you are sent to earth to solve.
We all have the capacity within to be problem solvers and solution bringers.
So let’s start with these three questions:
This is your access point … your “ground zero” to finding the favor keys that will elevate your business.
Be assured that anything you do that is beautiful and excellent [the good we do] will be repaid by our Lord, whether you are an employee or an employer. ~Ephessians 6:8~
In this episode, I unlock the keys that will help you:

I have talked a lot about partnering with God in life and business. In so doing, I have realized a lot of people do not fully understand what it means to do this or how to go about partnering with God. Or if they do understand it, they want to expand and go deeper with walking it out in life and business.
Through this article, I hope to shed some light and provide some insight on what the Holy Spirit has taught me about partnering with God, what that looks like and how to activate it in your daily life.
To do that, let’s first look at what partnership actually means.
A partner, in the simplest form is a person who you share relationship with in life or business. Think of your spouse as your partner in marriage, or your friends as partners in life, or your co-workers as partners in a shared mission, project, or task for your employer.
In business, you can also have a partner, and in business this partner shares both the responsibility for the company’s service, liabilities, and responsibilities, as well as the benefits of the company’s assets, outcomes, and profits.
When you have a partner, you are not on your own. You have someone to bounce ideas off of, to share the load with, to help support and strengthen you in the struggles and also to share the celebrations with.
It’s nice to have human partners and human companions, but having God as a partner is a higher level of walking in partnership. I know when I decided to partner with God in my life and business, things became infinitely more clear, fun, and successful.
To understand partnership with God, let’s look at God’s first human partner, Adam. When God created Adam, he created him in his own image so that he could rule and reign over earth and all of creation.
Then God said, “Let us make human beings in our image, to be like us. They will reign over the fish in the sea, the birds in the sky, the livestock, all the wild animals on the earth, and the small animals that scurry along the ground.”
Genesis 1:26 NLT
The Lord God placed the man in the Garden of Eden to tend and watch over it. Genesis 2:15 NLT
God created humans to be like him. God is a visionary, a creator, one who speaks with authority, and who manifests his dreams (vision). He is a ruler and reigns over the entire universe!
This sounds like an entrepreneurial spirit to me!
We were created to have dreams and see them come about, to have vision and build that vision out. We were created to speak with authority and see our dreams (or vision) come to pass. We were created to rule and reign. We were created to tend to the things God entrusts to us, to cultivate and multiply (grow, prosper, bear fruit) them.
God created his first human partner on earth when he created Adam. We are created in that same likeness and image of God that Adam was created in. God desires for us to partner with him, it is the reason we were created!
If God created humanity to reign and rule over all matters in the earth, then God created us to be his partners too!
As God’s partners, created in his image—we have the ability within us to create something, to envision (or dream) of new things, and pull them from our imagination into reality with our words and actions. We have the ability to have authority in a particular area that God has called us to influence.
As God’s partners we not only share in the responsibility but we share in the benefits (prosperity) of the work of our hands.
We have the ability to sit at the creative table of God over our lives, our work, our families, and our business.
We have the ability to speak into and provide input and to listen to what God is saying to us. We have access to His greater wisdom and insight for matters related to life and business.
We have the partnership advantage, when we partner with God.
If you want to know more about how you can partner with God in your life, and what that looks like from a biblical perspective, then I will be speaking in greater detail about this on my video podcast, Inspire with Fire, this week.
You can join me live on Facebook at 8:08 a.m. Eastern Time.
Or you can see it in the archives on You Tube. I will post the links below as they become available. Look for the series “Partner with God: Develop Your Vision for Life & Business.” (Episodes #27 through #31).
Partnering with God!

The new year has arrived and the prophetic word for this month is “Go Ahead and Jump!”
God is saying that we are now crossing over into a season where it is not only safe to jump and take that leap of faith that you have been thinking about taking for such a long time, but it is now required that we jump in order to be in the overflow of what He is pouring out in this current season.
Many have been standing on the edge of their dreams, looking across the expanse of where they are and where they want to be. They have been waiting for the right moment, for the right time, for the right opportunity to come along and transition them from here to there.
The moment has arrived, the time is now, and the opportunity is here.
Transition happens in the “jump!”
Change happens in the “jump!”
Transformation happens in the “jump!”
Dreams and destinies are birthed in the “jump!”
Where there is a jump, there is an anointing for overflow and prophetic decrees or declarations to be released:
At the moment she heard Mary’s voice, the baby within Elizabeth’s womb jumped and kicked. And suddenly, Elizabeth was filled to overflowing with the Holy Spirit! With a loud voice she prophesied with power:
“Mary! You are a woman given the highest favor and privilege above all others. For your child is destined to bring God great delight. How did I deserve such a remarkable honor to have the mother of my Lord come and visit me? The moment you came in the door and greeted me, my baby danced inside me with ecstatic joy!” Luke 1:41-44 TPT
When Jesus entered the room (in Mary’s womb) and the word was spoken (Mary’s voice), Elizabeth’s baby (John the Baptist) jumped and kicked in her womb! When this happend, notice Elizabeth was filled to overflowing and she started prophesying (decreeing and declaring) with power!
A new presence of God is about to enter your life this month and as it comes near you, there will be an overflow of God’s anointing that will cause you to begin decreeing with new power!
Decree with power and jump into the dreams, destiny and promises of God for your life.
The spirit of the God say “Jump!” and as he says “Jump!” the 1980’s classic rock song “Jump,” performed by Van Halen, begins to ring in my ear. For several days now, when I pause to hear what Heaven is saying, these lyrics seem to be on repeat:
“Might as well jump (jump) … Go ahead and jump …Jump … Jump … Jump … Jump!”
This year will be a year in which new opportunities will open for you.
The business you have been wanting to start, the promotion you have been seeking, the ministry you have been dreaming about, those books you have been wanting to write, the training or education you have been trying to get, the relationships you have been praying about … all of these and more—this is the year to take the leap of faith and Jump! into them with God by your side.
You are standing on the edge of your dreams … “Might as well jump (jump) … Go ahead and jump …Jump … Jump … Jump … Jump!”
The opportunity you have been waiting for is now presenting itself to you … “Might as well jump (jump) … Go ahead and jump …Jump … Jump … Jump … Jump!”
Many times in the Bible, jumping is used in conjunction with dancing, praising or victory—David jumped and danced before the Lord (2 Samuel 6:16); the healed man went about jumping and praising God (Acts 3:8); God’s presence illuminates darkness … allows strength to jump over walls (Psalm 18:39).
It is a year to live boldly and courageously in the pursuit of your dreams and the purpose that God has placed in your heart. As His presence comes upon you, it empowers you to move forward and jump into the things He has prepared for you.
Lend your ear and your heart to the leading of God’s Spirit, already at work in you. Silence the voices of those who speak words of discouragement over your dreams and listen to the counsel of God’s voice in your heart nudging you to move forward.
Jump! Take the leap into the realm of faith where God’s supernatural favor embraces you and secures your footing in the soil of your dreams.
God is issuing you an invitation to cross over to the next level of your life. He is granting you favor in the pursuit of opportunities. Remember in doing so to measure each against the criteria of your purpose and God’s word to you (both written in the Bible and spoken to your heart).
It will be important to practice discernment and to know which opportunities are from the Lord and which are intended to distract you from destiny.
Jumping into Destiny!

There are new doors opening before you, even now. Dreams that have long been lost, goals that have long been abandoned, desires that seem forgotten—God is breathing new life into these areas of your life. Those things that seemed dead, will now spring forth with new life. God’s promises for your future, are alive and active. His words will go ahead of you to fulfill what they were intended to fulfill.
Relationships are getting ready to blossom. Many have felt barren in the area of relationships. These barren lands of your life are getting ready to produce a bountiful harvest. God is showering favor over you and ordering your steps for the days ahead. The relationships coming to you are not just every day, run-of-the-mill relationships, but divine connections arranged in Heaven for a greater purpose.
I see Esther rising with courage for such a time as this. I see Deborah taking her position to declare victory in her land. I see Sarah stepping out in faith to follow God toward His promises. I see Mary Magdalene leaving her old life and stepping into a new identity. I see Hannah praying fervently and receiving answers to many prayers.
I see the Lion of Judah as He stands over these individuals—those called to advance in this new season—I hear Him as He roars, He roars with victory. He roars with authority. He roars with power. Lean in to the Spirit and hear Judah roar, beloved. Hear Judah roar!
This is your time to step into those things you have been waiting for. Now is the time to lay distraction aside—reorder and reprioritize. Now is the time to release the menial tasks that have been weighing you down so that you can soar to new heights. Your gifts are awakened and your dreams await you. Stand now and begin to put one foot in front of the other, moving forward into the promises that have been prepared for you.
Opportunity awaits. Do not delay. Do not worry about what others are doing, or saying. Listen to the still small voice that is inside of your spirit and follow it. Recognize the confirmation that God is giving you through the signs around you. Keep your eyes open. Keep your ears tuned to the Spirit. Begin to move in the direction God is leading you this season. There are many wonderful things ahead for you as you allow the Spirit of God to guide your footsteps and as you move in sync with Him.
And, so be it!! Let the word of the Lord penetrate your heart and bring the life shift that is promised here today. This word is seed to your spirit, let it fall into the soil of your heart and spring forth with evidence of a fruitful harvest. Keep the soil of your heart tilled and soft with praise, ready to receive the word of the Lord and act on it.
Hosea 10:11 says that “Judah will plow.” Judah means praise … your praise will plow the soil and prepare it to receive the seed of God’s word in your heart. So as you meditate on this prophetic word, hear Judah (Praise) roar over your life. Allow your voice to declare the praises of the Lord, allow your heart to echo the majesty of your King.
Judah will plow. Praise will prepare your heart to receive the seed of God.
God, I thank you for all of the men and women reading this article today. I bless them with divine favor and new doors of opportunity to open before them. I call them forward for the divine purpose you created them for and decree dreams are awakened, goals are realized, promises are fulfilled. I thank you for pouring out your favor and blessing over their lives right now, in Jesus’ name!

The post Prophetic Word: New Doors Are Opening first appeared on Krista Abbott.
It is time to dream again. God is saying for the month of December that it is time for you to step away, spend time with Him and begin to dream again. The things you have seen in your current life are small in comparison to what God wants to do and where He wants to take you in this next season.
It is time for you to dream again beloved. Dream again! Dream again!
As you step out and begin to dream with God, He will begin to unfold new visions, a new plan, a new hope, and a new future for you. You will begin to see things with a new perspective and greater understanding of what He is doing in this next season.
As we prepare for a new year God is preparing for a new you!
It is time for you to dream again! Dream again! Dream again!
This is a season for you to begin walking into the destiny that God has called you to. This is a season for you to begin believing God for the big things.
Don’t dream small anymore! It is time to dream big, says the Lord! It is time to dream big!
When you meet with God and dream big, then your big dreams are met with His big faith and as you pursue them, you will manifest the reality of what it is that your heart hopes for and desires. It is the season for your heart’s desires to be redefined, for your heart’s desires to be fulfilled and to come into manifestation on the Earth.
It is the season for the acceleration and advancement of dreams and opportunities. Great things await in the coming year for you beloved. Great things await!
Dream again! Dream again! Dream again!
In this month’s prophetic word, I want to share with you five keys that will help you manifest your dreams. Dreaming with God is the beginning of the manifestations of your promises. We can dream with God, but we have to also put legs on our dreams and we have to walk in faith and obedience to the actions that He gives us.
These five strategies will help you overcome procrastination and will help you break through the things that are holding you back from being able to walk into the fullness of your dreams.
Big dreams require big faith, and big faith requires big action. The Bible says this:
My dear brothers and sisters, what good is it if someone claims to have faith but demonstrates no good works to prove it? How could this kind of faith save anyone? James 2:14 TPT
And goes on to say …
So then faith that doesn’t involve action is phony [dead or fruitless]. James 2:17 TPT
You can have dreams, and you can have all of the faith in the world that they are going to happen, but if you never take action, then your dreams will remain dead and lifeless. To breathe life into your dreams, you must be ready and willing to take action.
So here are the 5 key steps that you can use to begin putting legs to your dreams today and get them moving forward in the right direction.
Clearly, the first step to really manifesting your dreams, is that you have to first have a dream that is clearly defined with an identified outcome. What exactly is your expected end?
Once you know the destination, you can begin mapping out a plan of action to help get you there. So as you begin to dream with God this month, take an extra step in defining that dream by looking at the desired outcome. Know what it is that you want and clearly define it in your heart and your mind. Then go for it!
In order for something to develop life and grow, you must believe that it is possible and actually see it in your heart and your spirit. Practice visualizing and feeling what it is like for that dream to be a reality in your life. Even if you spend just a few minutes each day thinking about what it will feel like when it is real. This will help keep your energy and motivation up and moving toward the goal, even on the difficult days.
You really have to believe in yourself and your God given ability to bring your dreams into reality. You and God make a winning dream team. With Him on your side, all things are possible. There is no reason to doubt yourself or God’s ability to bless your actions and help you see the fulfillment of your dreams.
… what seems impossible to you is never impossible to God! Matthew 19:26b TPT
Practical Tip: Create a vision board. Get a visual picture of the things you are dreaming about and keep it in front of you. I have used this technique over and over again and have seen it work without fail. When you keep the vision in front of your eyes, your subconscious mind works behind the scenes to move you in the direction of that thing.
It is important to write your dream down, to make an action plan for how you are going to get from where you are now to where you want to be. I do this every year. In the last few weeks of December, and sometimes rolling over into the first couple of weeks of January, I spend time, re-evaluating my dreams and developing an action plan for the coming months and years.
Then the Lord answered me and said, “Write down the special dream on stone so that one may read it in a hurry. Habakkuk 2:2 NLV
It is important that we do this so that we have a clear “plan” for running and moving forward with the dreams and visions God has placed in our hearts to do.
Once you have your dreams and your action steps written down, then use your plan along with your visualizations and your vision board (from Step 2 above) as tools to help you stay motivated to charge ahead each day.
These things will help you stay focused on the hard days and when discouragement or adversity tries to distract you.
It is important when you are pursing your dreams that you stay focused and avoid distractions and being pulled away from the plan you have set in place for yourself and your future.
One way to do this is to determine and set boundaries on your time and be disciplined about sticking to it. There will always be little distractions, sometimes even good and fun things that will compete for your time and energy, but it is important for you to be focused on moving your dreams forward. Sometimes this requires saying “no” to the good, so you can say “yes” to the great.
Your dreams deserve the best part of you. So find the time in your schedule to dedicate to YOU and to YOUR dreams each day.
I call this “Dream Time” and I write it into my schedule every day, and barring emergencies, it is non-negotiable and nothing else is allowed in that space … this Dream Time is MY time to take action toward one or more of my dreams and goals.
Small steps taken daily over time add up to big dreams being fulfilled. One of my spiritual mentors, Doug Addison, taught me how to develop this “breakthrough lifestyle” by taking daily steps, no matter how small toward your dreams or goals.
Do something every day toward your dreams and make every day count. Even if it is as small as doing some research on the internet. It is a step in the direction of where you want to go. If you don’t take the small steps then the big steps never come.
Give your dreams the attention they deserve each and every day. Your time matters, and you owe it to yourself and to your dreams to make them just as important in your daily schedule as you make other things.
In closing, I want to give you a bonus strategy, that may in fact be the most important of all. Are you ready? Here goes …
Stop caring what other people think!
So many people derail their dreams because they care too much about what other people think. To pursue your dreams to the fullest, you have to be ready to abandon and free yourself from the thoughts and opinions of others. It is your life. Live your life in pursuit of what makes you happy, despite what others think!
As you pursue your dreams with God, then He will surround you with people who will support and encourage you. But, also be ready for people to reveal their true colors to you, and if necessary be ready to make changes to your social circle.
It is important that you are surrounded with those who love and support you in the pursuit of your dreams, not those who try to steal them or derail you.
Father, I thank you for my friends reading this article. I thank you for their love and their faithfulness to you. I ask God that you would ignite within their hearts this month a new passion to dream with you. As they take these steps toward dreaming big with you this month, I ask that you would, reveal to them the steps they need to take, the time they need to set boundaries around and the people they need to associate with (or omit) in their lives. God, I ask for your blessings on their dreams, your protection over their dream time, and for your favor on the pursuit and fulfillment of what you have placed in their heart to do in this next year, in Jesus’ name!

The post Prophetic Word: Time to Dream Again in December first appeared on Krista Abbott.
I feel strongly in my spirit that God is saying NOW for November. I hear it echoing in my spirit, it reverberates in my mind and captures my heart. The word NOW. I just hear it over and over. When I think about November, the only thing I feel is “now.”
It is a now season … are you ready for your “NOW” in November? Are you ready?
Now is the time for you to step out and begin doing what you were created to do.
Now is the time for you to stop looking back at the past and start looking forward to the future.
Now is the time for you to focus on your goals, your dreams, your visions, and your plans.
Now is the time for you to eliminate distractions and begin looking inward at what matters most for you in this season.
NOW, NOW, NOW!!!
Many of you have spent years upon years giving of your time, energy, and efforts into the lives, goals, and maybe even ministries of others. You have served, you have loved, and you have given your all.
God is saying: This NOW, is your harvest time. This NOW, is your season. This NOW, is your time to step forward into the greatness that He has called you to.
There are gifts and talents and treasures on the inside of you. The seeds were planted years ago and they have been watered and nourished with the word of God, they have been nurtured through your acts of love and service to those around you. But now, beloved … it is time for you to be who God created you to be.
Now it is time for you to step forward in confidence, knowing you have been prepared, you have been equipped and you are ready for this next thing that God has for you.
Now is your season and now is your time. It is a NOW November for you!
You should know by now, that I am what I like to call “practically prophetic” … meaning that when God gives us a prophetic word or message, my gift is to make it practical and applicable to your everyday life. So how can we make this “NOW” word, practical? Let’s look at a few things you can do to activate this word from the Lord.
Walking into your now will require you to take some specific steps to help reduce distraction and eliminate the small things so you can focus on the larger things. Life can often lend itself to being busy without being effective. It is time to eliminate the busy so that you can begin to be effective. It is time to stop talking about making that shift, making that change, and to start doing it.
It is time to focus on the things that will make your life move forward into the destiny that God has called you to. And the 4 easy steps listed below will help you begin that process of eliminating the distractions so that you can activate the now season in your life.
Take time at the beginning of this month and begin to evaluate everything you are doing or currently involved in. Determine which items are necessary to keep and which items could be given to someone else or eliminated altogether.
If those things are not necessary then eliminate them. If the things you are doing, do not drive you closer to your life purpose, then get them out of your life. Period. Ask yourself some hard questions and decide if this is really necessary for you to be doing right now and what are the benefits of you continuing to do it. Also ask yourself: “what will happen if I stop doing this?”
If the world is not going to end if you give it up, and it is not moving you toward what God has put in your heart to do in this season, then why would you keep it? Find a way to off load it.
If there are tasks that you do, that you could easily delegate to someone else … then delegate them to others and move them off of your plate. These things are robbing your time from being able to focus on the greater things God has for you to do in this season. They are a distraction to keep you from the best God has for you … delegate them.
Once you have evaluated, eliminated and delegated as much as you possibly can, then take a moment to reevaluate the things you are involved in and what you are doing. For each of the remaining items ask yourself the following questions:
Is this a requirement for my life right now?
Why am I doing this thing or involved in this activity?
Does it push me closer to my goals?
Does it provide a sense of happiness, peace or fulfillment in my life?
Is it connected to my overall purpose?
At the end of those questions, if there is not a compelling reason to keep it, then (you guessed it)— dump it!! Repeat step 2 “eliminate and delegate.”
Now that you have cleaned some things off of your plate, you should be feeling pretty good and ready to move some things forward in your life. So with those items that “made the cut,” it is now time to prioritize and schedule them.
Identify the things that are most important to you and that will help you reach your goals the fastest. These are the things that you want to schedule into your calendar. These things deserve your time and your attention. Give them the best part of your day.
If you are at your best at 10 am … then put them at 10 am. If you are at your best at 3 pm, then put them at 3 pm. Make sure your most important, life purpose tasks are scheduled into your calendar. Otherwise, you run the risk of distractions robbing you of your future.
God desires for you to live out and walk in the purpose that He created you for. In order to do that, you will have to work with Him and be a co-creator of your life. This means being careful to make sure that other people’s priorities do not overshadow your priorities.
You will have to be extra vigilant to guard your time and your energy so that you can focus them on the things that make the greatest impact and yield the greatest results for you in your life.
I bless you this month to enter into your NOW season … and in entering into your NOW, I bless your outcomes to be fruitful and productive—yielding you a happy and abundant return.
Father, I thank you for those reading this article and prophetic word this month. I ask that you would highlight to them where the small foxes are that are spoiling their vine. I ask that you would show them where the time wasters, energy thieves, and distractions are in their life. I ask that you would help them eliminate these things … even if they are good and helpful things, but not connected to their divine purpose or destiny. God I ask for the Holy Spirit to show them what they need to get rid of and what they need to keep. I also ask that you would show them how to prioritize and schedule these things into the best part of their day, in Jesus name!
Father, I declare over each and every one of those reading this, that this is their NOW season, and I ask you to activate them into their life purpose and destiny, in Jesus name!
Moving in the Now!

The post Prophetic Word: 4 Steps to Eliminate Distractions and Activate Your “Now” Season first appeared on Krista Abbott.
It is time to occupy in October! Today, I want to share with you 3 Keys to Occupy and Claim Your New Position in the Spirit!
For the past couple of months, God has been speaking to us about changes that were coming, and shifts that He has been doing in the heavens.
Last month, in September, we celebrated the Hebrew new year, Rosh Hashanah and Yom Kippur. This was the period where God made decisions for people and shifted things over their lives. Many people were promoted or moved into new spiritual positions.
Now, we are entering into the season where we are being called to occupy those new positions we have been given or appointed to.
October is the month to occupy.
To occupy something means to move into it as if it is yours. It implies ownership and possession of a thing, and means that you have an established and recognized authority in that particular area.
It means your words, your presence, and your desires in that place carry weight and are paid attention to … because it is yours, and you occupy it, you have taken ownership of it.
To occupy a position or a new assignment that God has given you means that you walk in the authority and the covering of that position. It means in the area of your authority, what you say has influence, what you do matters, and what you want to accomplish gets carried out.
We are in a season of new authority being released to those who have been promoted or those who have proven faithful in the last season. It is time to establish your authority and claim your ownership or rule for the position to which God is calling you in this next season.
In order to occupy something, there are three things you need to make sure are in alignment with Heaven for your life. You have to position yourself to rule in your new area of assignment. The three keys to understanding occupancy in your new position are prayer, identity, and authority. Let’s look at them each in more detail.
There is great power in prayer, and when you pray from a place of occupancy, you pray from a position of power. Your words matter. Prayer is not just making a petition to God to ask him to do something. Prayer is also making decrees and declarations.
The Bible says to “decree a thing and it shall be done.” (KJV) another translation says to declare a thing.
“You will also declare a thing, And it will be established for you; So light will shine on your ways.” Job 22:28 NKJV
So decrees and declarations are words we speak out in faith from a position of occupancy, from a position of rulership in our assigned area.
When you make a decree from that place of occupancy, you are creating a new reality with your words.
Some examples of decrees and declarations include:
If you notice when you say these power filled statements from your mouth, you can feel your internal strength rise.
Take some time and think about the areas of your life that you want to see change to and bring a positive influence over. Begin to speak positive and life giving decrees and declarations over those areas each and every day.
“The tongue can bring death or life; those who love to talk will reap the consequences.” Proverbs 18:21 NLT
In order to occupy a territory or a position that God has called you to, you must do so from a place of affirmed identity. You must know who you are.
As a believer and as a child of God you have been given power. You have been given power to create a new reality for yourself and your family. You have been given power to walk in success and victory all the days of your life.
“But remember the LORD your God, for it is he who gives you the ability to produce wealth …” Deut 8:18a NIV
“Commit your actions to the LORD, and your plans will succeed.” Proverbs 16:3 NLT
The Bible teaches us that we have been chosen to be a royal priesthood … royalty implies an established power and authority.
“But you are a chosen people, a royal priesthood, a holy nation, God’s special possession, that you may declare the praises of him who called you out of darkness into his wonderful light.” 1 Peter 2:9 NIV
The authority of a royal is not questioned, the instructions or decrees of a person of royal lineage are carried out with expediency and excellence. When you know who you are in God, then it becomes easier to move into the position He has called you to and to occupy the new territory He is giving you. When you understand your royal identity in the heavens, then it becomes more natural for you to walk in the Earth altering authority you have been granted.
Look up some Bible verses that uncover your identity in Christ and begin to personalize them and declare them over your life, then watch the transformation that takes place in your spirit man … you will feel transformation as you reach a new understanding of your life and who you are in Christ.
You have been given authority in the area(s) that God has called or appointed you to operate. It is important to understand that you ONLY have authority in those areas that God has given you authority in, and you must be careful to operate only in the areas!
To try and operate in areas outside of the scope of your authority will only result in frustration, and maybe even cause you problems you don’t want to have to deal with down the road.
So, in exercising your authority do so with consideration and honor to what God has called you to and in such a way that it continues to honor those who are in authority over you or in areas that are outside of your scope of influence.
Authority exercised outside of your assigned scope is dishonoring to God and others, and is also rooted in pride rather than humility.
It is imperative … like super important … that your authority is carried out in a spirit of humility that honors the giver of all authority—God. Remember, no man (or woman) is given a position of authority unless God himself has established them there.
“Everyone must submit to governing authorities. For all authority comes from God, and those in positions of authority have been placed there by God. So anyone who rebels against authority is rebelling against what God has instituted, and they will be punished.” Romans 13:1-2 NKJV
Your level of authority or influence is often contingent upon the amount of honor you give to others who are in positions of authority. So as you walk and move confidently in your authority, also remember to honor God by maintaining humility and staying within the lanes you have been granted the keys of authority.
Humility is a big key to maintaining and keeping your authority. So always, be humble, no matter how much authority you are granted, humility is necessary when using your spiritual authority.
“Remind the believers to submit to the government and its officers. They should be obedient, always ready to do what is good. They must not slander anyone and must avoid quarreling. Instead, they should be gentle and show true humility to everyone.” Titus 3:1-2
Good leaders rule from a place of confidence, flexibility and humility, not from a place of insecurity, control, and pride. Always remember to seek the direction and guidance of the one true governing authority—God our Father, and the Lord Jesus Christ.
Make it a point to identify the leaders and those in authority in your own life and then make sure you walk in honor toward them. Honor God by honoring others.
I realize that sometimes this isn’t easy, especially if there is someone who is just a really bad leader, who is unkind and rules from a position of insecurity, control, and pride rather than confidence, flexibility and humility. BUT—as you put forth the effort to honor them, then God will honor you. As a result, your words and your influence in the areas you have been given authority in will continue to expand and grow.
As we close today, I want to pray for you.
Father, in Jesus name, I bless those reading this article and I ask that you would release them into the positions of authority that you have called them to function in. I ask that you would bless them in their areas and spheres of influence in their home, workplace, church, city, and region. I ask Lord that you would guide them, lead them, and direct them as they make decisions and begin to flow in the anointing that you have called them to. I also ask Lord that as they show favor and honor to others, that you would show favor and honor to them. I bless each and every person reading this today and call them forward into the destiny for which they were created, in Jesus name, Amen!
“I pray that you will begin to understand the incredible greatness of his power for us who believe him. This is the same mighty power that raised Christ from the dead and seated him in the place of honor at God’s right hand in the heavenly realms. Now he is far above any ruler or authority or power or leader or anything else in this world or in the world to come.” Ephesians 1:19-21

The post Prophetic Word: Occupy in October first appeared on Krista Abbott.
Today, I want to share with you 5 ways that Christians can honor Rosh Hashanah, Yom Kippur, and the Days of Awe. We are getting ready to move into a very significant time period on God’s timetable as we enter into the highest of Holy Days this month.
This year, Rosh Hashanah begins at sundown on September 20, 2017 and runs through sundown on September 22, 2017, and Yom Kippur begins at sundown on September 29, 2017 and runs through sundown on September 30, 2017.
The entire 10 day period between the two High Holy Days is called the “Days of Awe.”
Even though I am not Jewish, I am Christian—I believe it is very important that Christians recognize and honor the Holy Days of Rosh Hashanah, Yom Kippur, and the Days of Awe. I explain more about what these days mean and why they are important to Christians in another article. If you haven’t read it yet, and you aren’t familiar with what Rosh Hashanah and Yom Kippur are all about, then you can read it HERE.
For about the past ten years (I lost track of when I started at this point) I have made it a yearly practice to set aside these days on my personal and work calendar so that I can focus on the spiritual atmosphere more and so that I can be tuned in to what God is saying.
I do it a little different each year, depending on how the Spirit leads me, but each year these are designated days that I separate myself to spend time listening to God and what He is saying to me.
People have often asked me why I honor these holy days since I am Christian and not Jewish. For me, it’s pretty simple these are days on God’s calendar that He considers important and that He makes decisions for things to come in the next year. So if it is important on God’s time table, it should be important on mine … logical right?
I sincerely believe there is a secret hidden in the integration of Hebrew holy days with our Christian faith. And, I can tell you with absolute certainty—since I started honoring these days each year, I have been blessed on a higher level and have seen my life take significant turns and shifts (for the better) each and every year.
I hear God calling many of you reading this to separate yourself in September, and to honor these holy days this year. I hear God calling you to set aside special times this year (between September 21-22 when Rosh Hashanah begins and September 30 when Yom Kippur closes) to be with Him and prepare your heart for what is to come in the next season.
I know this is not taught in most churches (there are some exceptions), so I took some time to establish the foundation of why this is important (read it here) and then developed these 5 ways Christians can honor Rosh Hashanah and Yom Kippur without being bound to the “letter of the law”, as it were.
The key difference on honoring these holidays for Christians is that we do it to strengthen our intimacy and deepen our connection with God, as well as to purge and cleanse our hearts (the foundational purpose of these days) in preparation for what is to come.
This is a time for you to reflect internally. Spend some time alone, just listening and thinking. Get quiet and find a place with little or no distraction. Think on the things in your life and heart, ask the Holy Spirit to show you the things you need to give attention to and get in order during these ten days. The most important thing is that your spirit is purified during this season so that your heart is prepared for what God wants to deliver to you in the next season.
Search me, O God, and know my heart; test me and know my anxious thoughts. Point out anything in me that offends you, and lead me along the path of everlasting life. Psalm 139:23-24 NLT
This is a time to return to God, to resist your times of fellowship and deepen your relationship with Him. It is a call to come away and separate yourself for a season to search your heart. Love on God and let God love on you. Take some time each day to just thank Him for who He is, without asking for anything in return. These days are about focusing on your spirit and your relationship with God. Holy Spirit will speak to you and show you what you need to do and how to do it.
Bring your confessions, and return to the Lord. Say to him, “Forgive all our sins and graciously receive us, so that we may offer you our praises. Hosea 14:2 NLT
This is also a time of repentance. It is a time to forgive and be forgiven. In order for us to receive the fullness of God’s forgiveness, we must first forgive others. Meditate and get in touch with your deepest self and see if there are any lingering wounds or hurts where unforgiveness, anger, or bitterness remain in your heart toward others. If so, then release it to God and get clean so that you can receive the full benefits of His love in your life.
Also spend some time, reflecting on your own self, examine your own life, and look into the mirror of your soul to see if there is anything in you that needs to be cleansed or purged. Ask the Lord to forgive you and cleanse you. Also ask the Holy Spirit to show you anything that may be hidden so that you can bring that to the Lord as well and seek forgiveness and healing.
Pray the prayer of David …
Create in me a clean heart, O God. Renew a loyal spirit within me. Psalm 51:10 NLT
This is a time to refrain. Yom Kippur is traditionally a day of fasting and prayer. Set aside Yom Kippur to fast something. Some people choose to do a full fast for the 25-hour period of Yom Kippur, others who are not able to do that, or who don’t feel compelled to do that may choose to fast something else—maybe a partial fast or even fasting things like social media or television so that you can spend time with God.
The point of the fast is to take the time you would normally give to eating meals or other activities and dedicate it to God. So find a way to set aside the time you would normally use doing other things and spend it in prayer, worship, or reading your Bible.
I would also encourage you to refrain from negative conversation, negative thoughts, or any kind of negative news coming your way. Honestly, that’s a good habit to keep at all times, not just during the High Holy Days!
That is why the Lord says, “Turn to me now, while there is time. Give me your hearts. Come with fasting, weeping, and mourning. Don’t tear your clothing in your grief, but tear your hearts instead.” Return to the Lord your God, for he is merciful and compassionate, slow to get angry and filled with unfailing love. He is eager to relent and not punish. Joel 2:12-13 NLT
This is about giving back in gratitude for how God has blessed you in the prior year. Use this time to pay off any outstanding debts (as you are able and as is possible), also forgive or release others from any debts they owe you. Think about the Lord’s prayer here.
And forgive us our debts, as we also have forgiven our debtors. Matthew 6:12 NIV
If there are promises or commitments you have made, try and get them taken care of before the close of the Days of Awe so that you aren’t carrying unmet promises over into the next year.
Also, find a way to give back. It is customary during the Days of Awe to be generous and to give gifts to charity or to give a special offering to God. Find a way to give back in this season. Maybe you could find someone in need and bless them, or you can give to a church or ministry with an outreach ministry in your area. Many people use this time to bring a “first fruits offering” to the Lord.
These 5 ways Christians can honor Rosh Hashanah and Yom Kippur are not the only things you can do, I have simply made suggestions here to help you get a jumpstart. Because we are part of the new covenant and have freedom in Christ, we are no longer under the law, so there is no formula or specific way you have to do this.
The best thing to do to get started is to purpose in your heart now to take some time during the Days of Awe and to search your heart, seek forgiveness, seek cleansing, forgive those who have hurt you, and align yourself with Heaven during this season. Ask the Holy Spirit what you can do in order to prepare your heart and your spirit for what He wants to bring to you this year.
As you set time aside to spend with God in personal reflection, repentance, and preparation then you will find many things begin to get sifted and shifted in your life. By the end of the month, as we begin to move into October, you will begin to feel a settling in your spirit. It will be as if you have settled into your position for God’s “next” in your life.

The post 5 Ways Christians Can Honor Rosh Hashanah and Yom Kippur first appeared on Krista Abbott.
I am really excited about what is happening over the next few weeks and I want to share with you why Rosh Hashanah and Yom Kippur are so important for Christians to honor.
This month, we are entering into the High Holy Days on God’s timetable and I don’t want you to miss out on all of the awesome things that God is doing and what is happening in the Heavens.
To be honest, this is one of my most favorite times of the year, I look forward to it as much as I look forward to Christmas.
These days are regularly referred to as the Days of Awe and they begin at sundown on September 20, 2017 as Rosh Hashanah (The Jewish New Year) begins and they run through sundown on September 30, 2017 as Yom Kippur (the Day of Atonement) comes to a close.
Between these two dates rests the ten-day period called The Days of Awe in which it is said, the veil between Heaven and Earth is very thin and God leans in to be closer to humanity. The Days of Awe are also referred to in Hebrew tradition as the Days of Repentance and the Days of Return.
Bring your confessions, and return to the Lord. Say to him, “Forgive all our sins and graciously receive us, so that we may offer you our praises.” Hosea 14:2 NLT
It is during these days that we can hear God more clearly and access levels of revelation knowledge that aren’t normally flowing. It is also during these days that God determines our fate for the coming year.
I have personally honored these holy days for about the past 10 years or so, and specifically in the past 4 years have taken it more seriously as I have gained deeper understanding about what actually happens in Heaven on these Holy Days.
I feel in my spirit that these dates are very significant this year and I want to share a little more with those who may not be as familiar with what they are or what they mean for us as Christians.
First, let me lay a foundation for what it is we are honoring, so that you are clear on the reasons this time of year is important for Christians to honor.
Begins Sundown September 20, 2017 and Ends Sundown September 22, 2017
Rosh Hashanah occurs on the first and second day of the Hebrew month Tishrei and is the start of the Jewish New Year. Hebrew custom says that on this day, God opens the Books of Life and inscribes or writes His plan for us for the coming year. This is not a New Year as we in America think of the New Year, rather it is a time of deep introspection, and remembrance.
On the first day of the appointed month in early autumn, you are to observe a day of complete rest. It will be an official day for holy assembly, a day commemorated with loud blasts of a trumpet. Leviticus 23:24 NLT
Some of the customs of Rosh Hashanah include hearing the sound of the shofar (trumpet) during the Holy Days. This is symbolic of a call to repentance. It is also common to eat festive meals and sweet things such as apples or bread dipped in honey. This is symbolic of a sweet year to come. There are also special prayers that ask for God’s favor on the new year, such as:
“May it be your will to renew for us a good and sweet year.”
For Christians, this is an opportunity for us to enter into reflection with God, to celebrate Jesus and the forgiveness of our sins, but also to look inward and ask God to do a deeper cleansing in our hearts. Rosh Hashanah is a two-day celebration and festive time.

Yom Kippur is considered the Most Holy Day of the year. It is the day that the veil between Heaven and Earth is the thinnest and the day in which God seals our fate for the coming year. As the sun sets and night begins to fall, it is believed that God finalizes his plans for the year and seals them in the books of life, thus deciding and sealing our fate for the coming year.
On the tenth day of the appointed month in early autumn, you must deny yourselves. Neither native-born Israelites nor foreigners living among you may do any kind of work. This is a permanent law for you. On that day offerings of purification will be made for you, and you will be purified in the Lord’s presence from all your sins. Leviticus 16:29-30 NLT
On Yom Kippur, it is customary to spend the day in prayer, fasting, and repentance, searching the heart to see if there is anything remaining that needs to be cleansed. Typically, the entire day is dedicated to God and focused on purification before the window closes (at sunset) and the books of life are sealed for another year.
As Christians, we know that our sins have all been covered and atoned for once and for all by the blood of Jesus, so we do not have to participate in this to the fullest extent of the law, but it is still very important and relevant to honor the day and spend time with God in introspection, humility, and heart cleansing through repentance.
I use it as a day to worship, read my Bible, and spend the day in solitude with God to hear what He has to say to me for the coming year. I usually journal a lot on this day and just listen to what He is saying to me. As a result, I have personally had AMAZING supernatural encounters with God as Yom Kippur closes and the sun begins to set. These experiences have been life altering and unforgettable each time they happened.

The Days of Awe, also known as the Days of Repentance or the Days of Return are recognized as the 10-day period between Rosh Hashanah and Yom Kippur.
These days are customarily used for deeper introspection and making things right with God and with others. It is a time to settle debts, fulfill promises or commitments, to purge the old and make room for the new. It is customary to give gifts of charity or make offerings to God during this time period.
It is also believed that during this 10 day period, God leans in and is closer to Earth and closer to us, His children. It is the time God draws near to us—so in turn, we have an opportunity to draw near to Him.
Seek the Lord while you can find him. Call on him now while he is near. Isaiah 55:6 NLT
For Christians, this is a time period to really look at our lives, to forgive others, and to seek forgiveness for ourselves. It is a time to tie up loose ends as the Holy Spirit leads and prepare our hearts for what God is bringing our way for the coming year.
I usually use this time to separate myself a little from the busyness of life and to spend more time alone. I journal a lot and write down what I hear God speaking to me. I pray and ask God for direction and guidance for whatever life situations I have going on at the time. I ask for his plan and will to become clear to me and for all weights and things holding me back to be removed so that I can move forward into what He has for me.
I find that I hear God more clearly, angelic activity around me increases, and things begin to happen a lot faster during this ten-day period. That is why I separate myself a little more than normal, during the Days of Awe because I don’t want to miss anything God is saying to me or wanting to do in me during this season. There will be plenty of time for those other life things when the Days of Awe are complete.
I hope that something I have shared here today has inspired you to take your spiritual walk and experience with God a little deeper this month. It is not something you do out of obligation or legalism (law). It is something you choose to recognize and honor out of love for God.
I believe that God is calling many of you to separate yourselves this month to spend time with Him and to prepare your hearts to receive what He wants to deliver to you in the coming days, weeks, and months. Will you answer the call?
It doesn’t have to be complicated or complex. It can be really simple to honor these days. I have also written an article to help you know how exactly you can set aside some time this month to honor God’s holy days.
