Dear friends,

It seems I have TWO blogs now and I am going to try to MERGE the two....
I hope and pray I don't blow myself and my two blogs right off the planet..

Just the word "MERGE"
sounds scary to me.

HOWEVER, I can't blog from both blogs...
every time I want to post on one, I have to sign in with the email address I created that blog with..

Both blogs have different emails....sooo frustrating ...

So,
until I get this mess figured out,
please watch my

bj-sweetnothings.blogspot.com

blog as I'll use it for awhile longer.

XOXO  bj

Sometimes, I can't see the BLESSINGS for the TREES.....but I can SURE SEE THIS ONE !! 13 Oct 2013 7:37 AM (11 years ago)

THIS post comes straight from my heart...

Of all the earthly things I've possessed over the years, one of my favorite THINGS has been our
VINTAGE FRANKLIN WOOD BURNING STOVE.

With the stove being on an inside wall, the flue pipe had to run up the middle of the stove....

which made it very hard to decorate the mantel behind ....

that stove pipe and I have fought round and round about how to decorate the shelf...and .....most of the time...I WON...

I've always had so much fun decorating the shelf in sooo many ways...

loved loved loved this one with the little
WHITE BOO PUMPKINS....

and the vintage ironstone pieces...

A few days after we signed the contract on the CONTINGENCY SALE of our house,
I found myself tearing up every time I walked into the living room....

Even when I told myself....
HEY.....get a grip...
This is just a HOUSE and just look at the beautiful house we are being
handed on a platter.
A gift given to us out of PURE LOVE....!
"SHAME ON YOU !"
I THOUGHT I was going to miss my STOVE...

This beautiful cast iron stove belonged to my mama.

The old home place was very old and when she decided to move over to be closer to us,
she sold her house to the Episcopal church next door.

The church was going to tear down the old house and use the property for extra parking for their services.

Mr. Sweet took the stove out of the house and we stored it in our garage....

FOR 11 YEARS....

With Mr. Sweet working out of town most of the time during those years,
we just never got the stove installed in our cottage.

One year for a Christmas present to his mama,
our sweet son, DAVID KEITH, said,
"Mom, I don't have any money for Christmas gifts (he was a young married and knee deep in college)
so I would like to install your fireplace for your gift."

I am squalling like a baby just remembering and writing about it.

Such a sweet, tender thing....he knew how much that would mean to me and I'll never forget his tenderness and thoughtfulness and love for the rest of my life.

We had a professional do the installing of the flue and etc.....and my sweet boy did all the
brick work  and made it all so pretty.

I can't begin to express the many hours of enjoyment this gift has brought to me.

It belonging to my mother...
my son putting the stove into our house...

there's just so much meaning there for me, I THOUGHT I was  sick about leaving IT.

I knew I sounded ungrateful for the most blessed gift he and his family are giving us...
a beautiful house to live in.

I didn't mean that at all.....I will forever be grateful for this beautiful house
that I am growing to love in the week we've been in it...

and, then.....the  INFAMOUS LIGHT BULB  came on....

It's not really THE STOVE I will be leaving and missing....
it's the deep-seeded memories I have when I just even LOOK at the stove.

The gift of  love  is ALWAYS there.

I don't HAVE to SEE things to remember the love shared in this house
and this makes my heart swell so big, it almost jumps right out of my body.

Tears are running down into my coffee...
my nose is so stopped up, I may NEVER breath again...
sometimes, it feels like the LOVE will just make you explode.

I wouldn't be completely honest if I said that I am not going to miss anything
about our home of almost 40 years.

Of course, I am bound to miss it.

I can still see my sweet girl, STACY LEIGH, sitting on the bar stool by the front window...
watching for the "boy next door" to drive by the house a hundred times a night....and rev his motor
so she'd be SURE to see him....

and watching DAVID make a huge jump on his bike over the large bush in our front yard every day
after school....

OH, YES.....

There's lots of wonderful memories here but the great thing is that those memories are something
that I will always .....ALWAYS.....have tucked into my heart.

They are all held together with my heart strings and they will be there,
no matter if I NEVER see this house again...or some of the things in it.

OOO, what a blessed and a "WHEW" moment when I realized I wasn't being
ungrateful by saying I would miss these THINGS.

Once I realized it wasn't the things I would miss at all...
and when I realized that I would be taking every single one of the precious memories
WITH me,
all was well with my soul.

All  IS  well with my soul !!

This fireplace warmed more than our bodies...

it warmed our souls and spirits..
..
and how wonderful that the warmth will NEVER go away.
The memories  won't ever go away because they are GOD-GIVEN memories....

HALLELUJAH ..... !!

The WONDERFUL THING...???
GOD has seen fit to let me live long enuf to make  MORE precious memories....

MEMORIES in a new place.....
New memories, being closer to our family...
new memories of the fun times of  NESTING and making this new place
OUR HOME.

The reality is that our family loves us and wants things better for us...
a chance to live in such a beautiful, new, AWESOME house that
is so close to all our family....
without the financial burdens that come with owning a house.

The BIGGEST blessing of all.....
seeing our loved ones even more often than before.
O MY !!

I AM BLESSED.

A Pretty Pink Bow and a Pork Steak 10 Oct 2013 4:00 PM (11 years ago)

Hey, Everyone...

Hope all is well in your world..

I think it's so funny the things that we just fall in love with.

I mean...a $2 pink and white stripe bow wouldn't be something most people would just LUV.....

but I do !!

Silly, I know....but every time I go in my dining room and see the pretty green ivy with
the pretty pink bow, I smile.

...another GOOOOOD breakfast at SWEET NOTHINGS this morning.

 ...a bowl of fresh
BLUEBERRIES...
BLACKBERRIES...
and GRAPES.

....a strong cup of my favorite coffee...
Dunkin Donuts.

Here's where it
goes BAD....

A huge pork chop,
panned fried in a small amt. of oil....

and, even tho I know it's a
heart attack waiting to happen,
I just HAD to make a small amount of creamed gravy over toast.

...and....I KNOW that looks like a glass of WINE..
(is there even a breakfast wine..?)......
but...but....
I can explain....

Strawberry Orange Banana Crystal Light
just TASTES better in an adorable WINE GLASS.....
:>)
"There's that SLIM, CURVY ME on that cute cup again...."

Ya'll have a great day....

xoxoxo
 FOODIE FRIDAY
After frying pork chops, add a little oil to the same
skillet and a spoonful or two of flour...
let it all brown slightly,
then add milk....
always stir gravy with a SLOTTED spatula or spoon.
this will keep lumps from forming in the gravy.
Serve over toast....biscuits....it's good on most ANYthing. :>)

it was, like, carbonated or something weird....

but the bottle looks so cool with a few fern fronds
in it....

hahhhaaaa....ain't life just the GRANDEST !!!

A few more glimpses into THE MOVE.... 6 Oct 2013 1:00 AM (11 years ago)

Mr. Sweet built the nicest utility closet to house our great little
stackable washer and dryer.

We never could have gotten it done without the help of our son, DAVID KEITH...
he is such a blessing........(and so handsome !)

Mr. Sweet  did a wonderful job on the closet....as always. :)

This unit looks tiny but it actually has a nice sized washing and drying ability.
I haven't "broken it in" yet but my laundry basket is beginning to get full so I'll give it a try tomorrow.

This HALLWAY OF CLOSETS and SHELVES
is between the bathroom and the living area.

In case you didn't know....
this is a large POOL/GUEST house behind our son's beautiful home...

So much storage in this wonderful house by the pool......

I haven't unpacked many blankets as yet....
but there will be plenty of room for whatever comes along.

...big, nice shelves and I still have several with nothing in them....

never fear, tho.....like I've said....
many unpacked boxes yet to go..

I am looking at a large moving box that has
TOWELS/WASHCLOTHS

so there will be lots more stacked here....

I LOVE these closet shelves...

so handy, so roomy, so neat....

THIS room, full of individual closets is the most amazing thing, ever.

No more climbing
attic stairs, carrying large boxes and Christmas tree down ....

this is going to be a lifesaver for olden Mr. Sweet and myself.

....just walk to the closet...open the doors and bring out what we want to decorate for Christmas with.

Of course, with a laptop, you aren't chained to one spot...

Back in the summertime, I moved it all outside by that pool...*heavy sigh

A little corner of the tv room....commonly called LIVING ROOM....:)

I have my wicker desk looking good....this is where I'll sit to pay all those BILLS...(bummer)
This desk is in front of the stairway to the basement. ........

so far, the rest of the room is still full of BOXES.

More to follow later....

Hugs to all....
and thank you much for knowing I can't visit much right now...
too much on my plate.

A Bright, Cheerful and FUN dining area...... 30 Sep 2013 2:00 PM (11 years ago)

This room IS worth writing home about....

...well, at least for ME !  :>)

Bits and pieces of the dining area in this amazing SUMMER HOUSE...

I know full well that there's waaay too many photos here.
Sorry.....but, I'm so PROUD.....I just can't help it....

This metal and glass table that stood in our living room for years
now adds some character  to our dining area.

It is really such a NOTHING TABLE...very plain and, without the thick glass,
I could pick up the metal table and throw it into the next county....VERY light...
and yet...
it's one of my favorite pieces.

I want to cover those little stools in a burlap......SOMEday..!!

I saw that wine rack on a blog and fell in love...
bought it at WORLD MARKET for less than $30.

I got the idea to put those little stools beneath MY table (bottom left)
from that inspiration Pottery Barn table and stools on the right
.
DEBBIEDOO, WHEN are we going to be doing the COPYCAT CHALLENGE  again...??

I can SO get totally OFF THE SUBJECT.....

Most of the walls in the house have a TERRA  COTTA paint and at first, I was thinking I might not like the color.

I have had WHITE walls
for.ever  so ANY intense color was bound to be so different, it would  FREAK ME OUT.

Turns out, I really am liking this warm color...

I began to embrace that wall color....
picking out natural, neutral colors from the things I have...
and also was surprised to see how other colors like turquoise
REALLY WORKED with Terra Cotta.

The black fridge is behind that white wall with my BLACK AND WHITES ...

I was so glad to find the perfect place for this little piece.

Daughter, Stacy Leigh, gave this to me for my birthday last year and I really, really like it.

With baskets and plants,
it fits right in this
unconventional  house....

I feel many of my olden things just don't really work in this new home of ours.....

which is A.O.K. with me.

I was ready for a change...
sold some of my pieces....
gave others to family....

looking for other furniture pieces that say, "Hey, choose me...I'd look fabulous in that great house."

I put the little adorable OWL PILLOW in with the baskets and ivy and he looks so cute sitting in there.

Daughter in Law, Kathy, gave him to me for Mother's Day.

Such a cheerful little fellow and I love his HEART....
My little cast iron FAIRY GIRL with a couple of bottles I bought in CANTON in May.

It's already been changed out.....LOL

I'm sure it will be changed many, MANY times and
that's the fun part of

NESTING...

I did place that pot of ivy into a crystal bowl and it looks much better...along with the other clear glass.

We have a large tv in this room, too....
we are sooo impressed  !!!...and probably well on our way to being sooo SPOILED.!

...just a few bits and bobs scattered around the dining area..

I found this adorable PEACOCK pillow in the colors of my new
indoor/outdoor rug.

....have I mentioned what a BALL I am having, bringing this beautiful house
along with all the nesting I can possibly muster...??

OOO....did you notice my CAKE sign in the back...???     It looks just perfect there.

.....reds...oranges...greens...golds...turquoise...whites...blues.

I first thought of it as a SUMMERTIME rug...
now I am thinking how bright, fun and warm it will look during the cold WINTERTIME...

My dining table and white chairs are perfect for the room.....
plenty of room to add more leaves to the table....and the two long benches on either side...

Not sure my little bird friends will stay here or fly somewhere else.
For now, they will roost right there.

Every thing is hung with COMMAND STRIPS..

even all my darling black and white photos  !!

Now, may I just say that it took a LOT MORE TIME using those COMMAND strips
than it did using little nails....but I sure am glad not to have a bunch of little holes
in these pretty walls.

 OH, MY....
we are sooo happy with our new NEST....

sooo happy with the way things are working together...

We haven't eaten breakfast here yet but what a delight it will be...
morning sunlight coming thru those 5 windows and the double French doors...
live plants, healthy and glowing...
birds singing...
swimming pool shimmering...
me in my high heels and pearls....
hahhaaaa
O HONEY

(Mr. Sweet and I moved the table and 6 chairs over in the back of a pickup truck...
did I hear you call me a REDNECK....???  hahhhaaaa....)
(and now that I look at it....this MAY be  considered a REDNECK lunch !!)

I just couldn't wait any longer to get that ONE ROOM finished....

one straight and pretty room to go to, amid all the boxes and STUFF stacked every where...
to catch my breath !

This is one of the most delightful, roomy, charming dining rooms I've ever had
AND I AM SOOO HAPPY !!

I unpack a box, then walk to this room and stand and stare at it....
makes my heart skip a beat every time I think...."we are REALLY going to live here".

I can't tell you how pleased I am that so many of my things look right at home in this new wonderment.

I worried a bit about that but....

no need to worry over such trivial things
when one is fluffing a new nest.

I should know that if it's something
I dearly love,
IT IS GOING TO FIT..!!

OOO....I am SO in luv....

I can just feature myself, cooking up a storm back there in that kitchen...
while Mr. Sweet is here at the table.....watching football on tv
with a knife and fork in his hands...

hahhaaaaaa

BITS and BOBS of a GALLEY KITCHEN 28 Sep 2013 5:28 PM (11 years ago)

 Hi, all....
here it is...about time to start another week....
the first week  of OCTOBER.
HOOOOLY COW....
how come this year completely skipped the month of SEPTEMBER...???

Whaaat ????
We DID have September....well.....it must have been the fastest moving September of all time.

We've really worked at this moving thing....
We had NO idea it would take us a year to get moved....
we thought the olden house would sell quicker than ....
let's see.....
it was on the market 7 months before it sold....
(AND...if these people that are in contract with us don't sell THEIR house
by December 3rd....the whole deal will be OFF.)
Oh, Lordy....please pray for us....!!

We are almost finished with the little closet that will house our stackable  washer and dryer.... Once we get the washer out of the middle of the floor, we can begin to move our furniture in....

Hoping to do that this coming week....

We are sooo ready to SLEEP there....WAKE up there...
LIVE there !!

Being desperate to have a little LAW AND ORDER, when I'm not needed to help Mr. Sweet in the building, I am unpacking and putting things away. I've made quite a dent in the amount of stacked boxes...
I am beginning to see that infamous LIGHT.

So many things I can't put away until our furniture is there....hutches and etc....

I wanted to share with you a few bits and bobs about the kitchen that I am so in love with.

I am sooo in love with this awesome tile back splash...
and the faucet....OMYGOODNESS....amazing...
I even like the light switches.....:)

and.....this stove is the ONE IN MY DREAMS...
Gas...
5 burners
stainless....

I took down all those little tiny COMMAND hooks...
not liking the looks of those....
I wonder what in the world they could have hung on so MANY ??

I'm not one to hang a lot on the walls of my kitchen...
a nice drawer is right behind me when I'm standing at the stove
that holds all my hot pads and cup towels.

This is such a dream kitchen...

The island is HUGE....and wonderful !!

roll out drawers for pots and pans...
a large lazy susan in the corner cabinet which pulls out for easy access...
twin trash bins that pull out....

I can't get a lot of work done due to the fact that I stand at these doors and
stare at that awesome pool and hot tub...
I'm just not used to a POOL right outside my door.

One day while we were working,
we got the nicest little rain...

Loved seeing rain drops falling in the swimming pool....

ISN'T THIS A BEAUTY IN RED !

While unloading a box at the Goodwill truck the other day, a woman drove up beside me and I spied this bright red, heavy cast iron GUM BALL MACHINE in the back of her car.

I asked her if I could buy it since she was  giving it to Goodwill but she gave it to me instead.

I had one when our grands were little but one of the boys knocked it over and the glass part hit the brick of the fireplace.

Now.....
I just need to buy some gum balls.

I'm looking for some of those special
kinds....flavored and yummy.

Back to the kitchen.....

I am just unpacking and placing things around,
letting them 'fall where they may' for the time being.

The right time will happen when, all at once,
as if wiggling my nose,
every thing will be in it's proper place....

I still have a box of things like  my canister set...
coffee maker....
all the things that we've had to use right up to the last minute of moving.

This kitchen counter will have a new look every few days, I'm sure...
altho,
I just have 2 more boxes with dishes to unpack .
YAY

I adore the long, wide ISLAND that separates the galley kitchen from the dining area.
On the kitchen side, there's drawers and doors and storage, O MY.
O, yeah....I've already told you that...

I am just so excited to have such an efficient, new kitchen...with such  pretty
cabinets, counter tops, beautiful stove and microwave....

I am not sure what the beautiful, black, reflective counter top is,
but I have started a STRONG LOVE AFFAIR with it.
It is PURE CLASS  !!

The above shows what I have placed on it for now....
I'm sure things might chance with the opening of the next box....:)

I hope all is well in YOUR world....
I'll be showing you more of MINE soon...

The DINING AREA  is finished and may I just say....
o, honey !

I hope we can convince our son and daughter in law how much we love and appreciate
this marvelous gift of our new home.

We are going to be so comfortable and happy there, I can't even find words !!

An OLLIE RAMSEY breakfast.... 22 Sep 2013 4:00 PM (11 years ago)

Hello, All...

OLLIE RAMSEY was my dad....well, he still is even tho he is in Heaven now.

I got my love for a good breakfast from him.

and his favorite breakfast was

Molasses poured over both potatoes AND biscuits...

Well, I made his breakfast this morning....

It was all sooo good that we ate all the potatoes before I could get a photo of them on the plate....
and
there was only a small amount of syrup left so I just washed the cute jar and filled it with......

beautiful little purple flowers....

Do you have a
MEAL MEMORY
of one of your departed loved ones.....??

For my mom....
she always said she could "eat a cow chip if it had WHIPPED CREAM on it...."

hahhaaa, Mama....
meee, too

Lots of love, bj

HOPE YOU HAVE A GREAT WEEK....

The Happiest Birthday ever to LACEY JEAN....
We love you dearly,
Granddad and Memaw

An Upside down Crescent Roll 20 Sep 2013 5:54 PM (11 years ago)

You have to admit that these little treasures are just

down

right

pretty.......:>)

Little PINEAPPLE UPSIDE DOWN TARTS

I was so scared that when I turned these out of the muffin tin, I would be havin' a
train wreck  in the kitchen....
just knew they might stick....but, they came right out, just like they were supposed to.

....don't they look delicious !!!

Just like a Pineapple UPside Down Cake...

Pamed muffin tin
a little butter in each cup
sprinkle BROWN SUGAR
add a bright red CHERRY
a spoonful of CRUSHED PINEAPPLE
a few pecans
************
lay a piece of CRESCENT roll over each cup
and slide into a 400 oven until golden brown.

I am sooo ashamed to say that I can't remember which blog I got this amazing recipe from.
If it was YOURS, please let me know so I can add your link.

Believe me....they TASTE even better than they LOOK....

Now, if you will excuse me.....

I've got some EATIN' to do......

XOXO

The French sure know their Toast....and so does KariAnne 18 Sep 2013 9:01 PM (11 years ago)

FRENCH TOAST
is one of my most favorite things on this Earth to eat...

For toppings, I like

 MAPLE SYRUP ....
or
POWDERED SUGAR....
or
BLUEBERRIES.....
or
BROWN SUGAR AND PECANS....

but KARIANNE
that lives over at
THISTLEWOOD FARMS

says that her MOM
uses APPLES to top her FRENCH TOAST.....

and we all know that

MOM KNOWS BEST.....!!

and...of all fruits, APPLES are one of the lesser expensive.

SO....
this morning,
APPLES IT WAS....

HOOOOLY  COW

Talk about some DELICIOUSNESS....

How in the world can one have
THICK  WHOLE  WHEAT FRENCH  BREAD
dipped in egg....
vanilla....
(remember to dab a drop behind each ear)
a little sugar..
salt and pepper....
milk

fried to a golden brown....

smothered in CARAMELIZED APPLES CHUNKS
and.......

NOT add a big, ole dollop of SWEET WHIPPED CREAM, sprinkled with CINNAMON....???

NOT MEEEEE......
no sir ree bob....when i have a can of
PURE WHIPPED GOODNESS
right there in my fridge.....
it IS going on those apples.

and we all love BEFORE and AFTER pictures....

Hanging Onto Summer 17 Sep 2013 4:03 PM (11 years ago)

It's that time of month for VEE'S NOTE CARD PARTY.
I hope YOU will join us...we sure do have a lot of fun.

NOTE CARDS by bj.....

THE BLUE PICNIC BASKET

People don't want to go to the dump and have a picnic, they want to go out to a beautiful place and enjoy their day. And so I think our job is to try to take the environment, take what the good Lord has given us, and expand upon it or enhance it, without destroying it.
Jack Nicklaus
"Tailgating just makes any football game MORE FUN.."

I'm into all that sappy stuff - a surprise picnic, nice dinner, or traveling. I'm kind of an old romantic.
Will Estes

"An INDOOR picnic can be just as fun as the OUTDOOR ones....
It's not about WHERE the picnic is.... not even about the FOOD....
It's about time spent with someone you love, be it lover, spouse or the entire family."

A "play like" TAILGATE PARTY 16 Sep 2013 5:47 PM (11 years ago)

Our home fellowship
(which I love to pieces) gathered at our cottage Sunday and our theme....

"A PLAY-LIKE"
TAILGATING PARTY.....

Barbecue BAKED BEANS...

I like a sweet barbecue sauce
and could actually DRINK this whole bottle of
SWEET BABY RAY...

"The Sauce is the Boss"

 This particular recipe called for
PORK AND BEANS
BACON
CANNED FRIED ONION RINGS
from PLAIN CHICKEN

This recipe for CLUB SANDWICH PUFFS
also came from PLAIN CHICKEN.

I used PEPPERED SMOKED TURKEY

and you can go to her site, search these recipes and find them in a flash.

We dipped these in
Honey Mustard......

and they are sooo tasty.

All tailgating parties have
SLIDERS....

and so did we....

These are whole wheat slider buns...

Honey Ham slices...

3 different kinds of cheese...

Drizzle POPPY SEED DRESSING on the inside, over the ham and cheese.

Just before sliding the SLIDERS into the oven a few minutes before serving,
melt a small amount of butter and mix with a nice amount of POPPY SEED DRESSING
and brush on tops of buns.

...just get them warm enuf to melt the cheese and
YOU'RE  GOOD  TO  GO.....

If you've not tried THESE chips, you are in for a treat...

so flavorful....and 40% less fat  !!

...gotta love that..:)

We had chips of all kinds...
the BEST CHEESE QUESO
of which I didn't get a photo.....
but, even worse....
I didn't get the recipe....BUMMER

Dessert...always desserts...

I have to tell you, I am sooo glad there's
BLACK JACK CHERRY
SMOOTH & CREAMY
FROZEN YOGURT...

Oh Honey

Huge BLACK CHERRIES...along with those delish SWIG SUGAR COOKIES...

And, one of the sisters made the BEST LEMON BARS....

again...I didn't get the recipe...
SORRY ! ...
seems all I did was....

EAT..!!

the scoop tuesday
be inspired
nifty thrifty
your gonna love it

PUMPKINS all PRIMPED UP for THE PUMPKIN PARTY 15 Sep 2013 5:06 AM (11 years ago)

DEBBIE at DEBBIE DOOS comes up with the BEST parties and she's done it again....

Share your cute pumpkins at her party...

I LOVE white pumpkins.....

I bought this large one last year at MICHAELS.

THIS one is even larger
and I just added faux
autumn leaves and pumpkin colored candles, tied with jute...
and it made a great centerpiece.
One of my favorite pumpkins is this one that I spray painted BLACK...

stuck those little round white STICKIES all over it for a
GREAT polka dot look...

added a polka dot ribbon to the table setting....

I tied a tiny black and white bow to the top of the pumpkin and it looked
cute as it could be...looked like it was wearing a cute little BOW TIE.

This was a fun photo to do in
PHOTO SCAPE....

Of all the wonderful pumpkins in the world....
LITTLE  BOO  PUMPKINS
are, by far, my favorite....

 booooo

No matter if these cuties go into a
bowl...
basket...
or just lined up like little soldiers...
they are so cute to me....

The  STEMS  are what little BOOS are all about...
look for the curliest, most interesting stems you can find....

Be sure to stop over at DEBBIEDOO'S to see more great
PUMPKINS and some good decorating ideas.

l

Even little glass BOOS are cute, aren't they...!!

XOXO bj

The Pink Pig....Fredericksburg, Texas 12 Sep 2013 3:47 PM (11 years ago)

ALL COOKIES are delicious....

but, PINK COOKIES have to be the BEST. !!

THE PINK PIG BAKERY & CAFE,
FREDERICKSBURG, TEXAS

Even their brown bags are adorable....

Altho I didn't get a  PINK PIG  SHORTBREAD  COOKIE,
there's not a doubt in my olden mind that they aren't
MOUTHWATERING GOOOOD...!!

HERE is the recipe, found online.

I haven't made them yet....

I still have some of the
SWIG SUGAR COOKIES
in the freezer
to bring out some evening when we are SWEET HUNGRY
and I'll bake up a batch, fresh and hot.
 (my Weekly Top Shot)

THEN....
I'll wait awhile and make the
PINK PIG
SHORTBREAD COOKIES

Don't you love that there's such a thing in this world as
PINK GUMMY PIGS....???

ahhh, what a wonderful world.

Waaay too cute.

I think it would be loads of fun
to have both these tee shirts....

The founder and owner of
THE PINK PIG BAKERY & CAFE,
Rebecca Rather, has written several pastry cookbooks.

She, at one time, had
 RATHER SWEET BAKERY & CAFE
located in Austin, Texas.

I think it is closed down for now.

THEN, we heard via THE PINK PIG Facebook,
that they closed their doors  at Fredericksburg.....since they LOST THEIR LEASE....
BUM...MER !!

She does say that she plans to find a new location in FREDERICKSBURG, TEXAS...

and I also heard that you MIGHT could still order those amazing PINK PIG COOKIES
and maybe a cute tee shirt.......

...even her SWEETS cookbooks.....
all off her Facebook so you might give it a try if you want to purchase
anything from her cuteness.

 XOXO, bj

 Here's a tiny FAMILY TIDBIT....

My grandmother, Emma, was expecting my mama when her brother was going off to war.
Emma said, "Fred, I swear to you that no matter if this baby is a girl or a boy, I will name it after you."

My mama came along and was named HELEN FREDERICK....
I think this is the SWEETEST story I've ever heard.

Emma's brother, Fred, didn't come home from the war.

NOTE:

Sarah has left a new comment on your post "The Pink Pig....Fredericksburg, Texas":

BJ, I'm here to tell you that Rebecca found another location and is just outside of Fredricksburg as you drive in from Austin. She named this bakery and restaurant The Pink Pig. Yes, she still has those yummy pig pig cookies and lots of other goodies too. If I go to Fredricksburg, I always stop on my way back to Austin. Gotta take some of her cookies back with me. '-)
Funny, I have photos sitting in my files with the thought that I'd do a post. Pink pigs! '-)

Thanks, Sarah, for letting us know this.....now, if any of us go to Fredericksburg,
we can get those PINK PIGGY COOKIES....
