Can it be done? What meshes? 77t underbase and 90t for top colours?? This is what I use for tees, but I fear it wont work for polos?!?!

I have a picture taken with a Nikon D3000 that is 4288x2848 @ 72 dpi. If I convert it to 300 dpi it's still grainy looking at 100% zoom. I've never come across this problem before. Any ideas.
